I don't think we can do any better. It's the extended geometry that hits the FPS. Delete at least level.details files so the grass will be as dense as in vanilla.
SOC has poor level design in some places and not properly set HOMs (the invisible walls that prevent obscured geometry from rendering). The garbage for instance has big FPS hit when looking west towards Agroprom. Same with Warehouses looking from the entrance to Red Forest towards the Bar.
You can also install the mod with lower FOV. Bigger FOV means more objects to render, hence FPS hit.
Also lowering resolution may help.
No it won't. You just gonna loose all new geometry and game will revert to old vanilla levels.
IMO you'll loose a lot of atmosphere but that's what would definitely improve FPS.
BTW, how much FPS you've got in vanilla? I'm asking because ppl usually don't get a big FPS drop in AA2 even with all maxed out.
Ok, I can see the difference but TBH, I could play 30FPS without a problem. It doesn't hurt my eyes and the movement is smooth enough. Maybe I'm just a slow kid :D
Anyway 25 FPS for TV is a fact. Is the movement smooth? It is.
Big_Guy, haha, it's not per eye :)
Quote: I didn't spent like 800€ on an upgrade so I play games from 2007 with shaders from 2009 at 40 fps.
You really thought that all the extended geometry like hi-res trees and extra foliage won't contribute in FPS drop? Delete 'gamedata\levels' directory and enjoy vanilla trees with FPS boost.
What are you talking about? Human eye can perceive up to 25-30 FPS. Anything above that is a smooth movement.
It must be a torture for you to watch TV as it is only 25FPS :D
What's wrong with 40 FPS? It's almost twice as much as your eyes can notice.
It's r2_ls_squality command. Comment or change it in aa2.script

Or choose R1 (DX8) version of the mod during installation if you indend to play on Static lighting.
Never encountered that but it may be the case.
Install latest GPU drivers and DirectX library with DX9 support.
Alternatively install 'No ENB' version.
You've installed FDL version and you try to play on static lighing. It says CLEARLY in the installer that you won't be able to do it.
Reinstall or change the renderer.
Some of the settings are automatically loaded via console commands executed at load. Check aa2.script if they are set there and comment (or change) the necessary lines.
I'm sure they are somewhere just don't remember where exactly ;)
Raise r2_sun_lumscale_amb in the console.
Comment the necessary lines in aa2.script to stop resetting to default when loading a game.
Bear in mind that this would raise the global brightness.
That's probably because there is no silenced shot sound associated with the weapon. It wasn't needed as there was no silencer for that pistol.
It works with Steam version, no need for patch.
That log indicates that you haven't uninstalled it completely.
Do you use any subtitle mod with AA2?
Just run installer like for AtmosFear. AF3 and AN3 (full) are compatible but may conflict with Arsenal. If so I recommend using AN3 Lite
There are no sunrays in ShoC ;)
Anyway, the settings are loaded every time to assure a maximum quality. Open aa2.script and comment the lines you want to alter in 2 functions: set_console_on_start() and set_console_on_load()
There is no parameter for that. This has been achieved by hacking the game dll. Run installer and select the desired option. Note that it has major impact on the performance.
You should play vanilla to see the difference but if you really need mods then why not to try our Autumn Aurora: Moddb.com
Lot's of improvements one but vanilla story. Not an easy one though (but not that difficult as MISERY)
Looks like some files are missing. Please reinstall. You don't need to start new game after that.
Having less tasks in the PDA helps to prevent save corruption. Unfortunately there is many more reasons when it should happen even in vanilla game.
Artifact spawning under the textures is also a common bug from vanilla.
The only solution is to load earlier save and hope it won;t happen again.
Driver/GPU issue. Try updating the drivers, lower the vision distance/object detail or if it doesn't help delete levels\l12_stancia
Glad you found the solution.
Quote:And I feel a touch of Lost Alpha in it ;-)
It's actually oposite. LA has a touch of AF :)
AF3 has been released years before LA
It may be a sign of GPU oveload. You don't experience that on vanilla because it has 3-4 times lower vision distance than AF3, hence a lot less to render. Try to lover vision distance and/or object quality in options. Still, your GPU is more than capable of running AF3 in full. I've created it on old 8800 GT and it was running fine.
Also try to update the GPU drivers (or downgrade) as there may be a driver issue.
