Congratz!

Strangefully, I think if I pirate indies I might would even "donate" money to the devs directly instead of buying the game. I know this sounds very strange, though.
This might be because somehow, as misterycolous it sounds, see the indie devs somehow as "pals", people who aren't working for a bigger company, doing stuff on their own. I understand them more as a bunch of single persons which I would like to support by their plan.

I usually grab most of the games at 2nd hand stores for low prices (mostly under 10 € or even 5 €). If I see a snap, I am usually going for it, there. I have bought like 30 games from the store in the last 2-3 years, actually I only played about...5 or so?

I must admit that I also have a problem to pay for digital distributions since I prefer CDs/DVDs. I somehow can hardly get me over to pay for just some bits and bytes without a physical medium.

I also dislike steam pretty much and only used it to install and play an used copy of L4D - of course I didn't let the support know what I was doing when I told them that I lost access to "my old steam account". I made a picture of the serial key and send it to them and IIRC they gave me the PW for that steam account (only L4D was purchased by that acc, btw). Other than that, I don't think I would ever buy games via steam, and especially not if the digital distribution is at the same price as a version at DVDs. While I can indeed understand the economical reasons for charging the same price (as long the customers are paying that price it is good for business, isn't it?), I do not welcome them.

Although I can really see the problem that indie games are making it hardly to physical mediums, unfortunally.

Wouldn't this mess up once I install more mods? Anyone made good experiences with Desura? It is possible what I want through it?

Is there acutally a way to manage Generals - ZH mods comfortably within just one game dir?

I get a warning from avira antivir that it found a malware in the installer.

Avira Antivir reports a file (FarCry.exe, iirc) as malware when I am installing this mod.

Better ask at community forums this question, it is most likely it won't be answered clear in comments.

I highly encourage you to visit a FL community, I personally go to www.the-starport.net for all such stuff.

Great that you make in into a magazine. It can be a huge pain to get listed into oen and I can speak for myself as I tried a lot to get Freelancer mods into gaming magazines. After several tries and months I finally succeeded =)

Well, it is very simple and easy to install and manage mods with the FreeLancer Mod Manager, so you just download one archive and open it with FLMM, activate it, and all will be fine.

Yes for MP, yes for nomads - In a restricted way. afaik only for RP purposes.

Jeffman, are you talking about the server or the modification?

Both are aviable in public, I am just not sure about if you are allowed to use parts of this modification for your own work.

But if you want to play: Sure, go ahead and play at the official Procyon Server.

In Freelancer you don't even have such a high learning curve, it is not such hard, especially compared to other games like EvE Online.

As I feared I got an error message with the installer. started the .exe after the install process but nothing happened. Eh.

Any option to install it without MSI? Not sure if this extraction will work with my system such well.

Is the last map still missing btw? Other than that: A really great campaign, but you might need to be a bit well in english to understand it. Very much text and story...

If you believe DS1 is great you really should try Freelancer. :P

unfortunally DS1 only supports SP and is - from what I have heard - a lil "bit" reapiting.

Hm, this would be indeed non-clientside modding. IAFLC is meant to be usable at any server. But I guess that there ARE modifications which fullfill your purpose, you might want to ask at www.the-starport.net - The place where the whole bunch of FL modders hang up :)
