Welcome to ModDB TV, a monthly video feature which brings you all of the new (and updated mods) released to play over the past month in an easy to digest video format. Sit back, grab some popcorn, and tune in to spotlight - the easiest way to find cool new mods and games to play... Watch for updates and join this group or tune in to our Youtube channel.
Also each month in the video we shall be handing out the ModDB "staff selection" award to the mod/game we find most enjoyable! To enter all you need to do is make sure you release your game or a decent update (so guys don't be skimping on the content!), and make sure it gets onto the Mod DB front page (for more info on how to make sure your news gets there click this link), its that simple!
After your mod gets the royal front page treatment I'll be downloading it and recording myself smashing it up in your prized creation, the footage will then be placed into a video at the end of the month for everybody to see! Think of it as free advertising, but you still need to put the hard work into making your mod the best it can be!

Another month another Spotlight this time we hit you with the best flavors of July 2010. Since I have been receiving many more comments to bring back the VO I decided to trial a brand new style, less reading more listening! Let me know what you like best.
Firearms: Source is a team based first person shooter, rooted in the traditions of the Firearms mod for Half-Life. Firearms: Source brings the best aspects of Firearms to the Source engine, and then takes them a step further. You'll see a host of familiar weapons and maps, but you'll find the streamlined game play to be faster, focusing on aggressive, skilled play. From nearly the moment you spawn you can expect to be engaged in furious action.
Till next time mod away my good friends and watch this group for updates. Also check out the blooper reel for the voice over work!

Source, Source, Source, Source, Source, stalker, Source, Source. =/
More likely to say Source Month.
Clearly the most awesome engine :)
(buried)
Nah, cause Nah.
Its been a month now i think since i started not liking Source that much...
It's just tedious to work with it, not only Hammer, but also importing models. Though I like the programming part of Source.
Yeah its incedibly stupid to downgrade my karma for expressing MY OWN HONEST opinion... And i didnt even say Source sux! I dont really click - to people saying its the engine ever. I dont like Hammer, its easy to make some easy maps, but if you want to make something incredible its near impossible due to its limits... And yeah all Source tools and Source itself was awesome few years back but lately it became dull to me.. Especially since all the other great engines got released, Source just cant keep up with them... And i think the only reason of it being so popular is cause of lot of people have half life 2 (awesome game) and its easy to use...
Sorry for wall of text but this moddb editor just wont let me format text good...
I understand where you are coming from, however, you by what you say you go against everything you meant. Source still has many mods that are praised, updated and featured (as you can see by this video). So maybe its not the best gfxs or can easily make maps.
Its still a great engine that is withstanding the test of time.
Source is a great engine,mate.
Boring. Only shooters? Moddb is working for the weapon-lobby, mh!
Love the commentary. Keep it up.
I really enjoyed this review, the guy sounded more happier and i been watching for a long time. Most of the time he sounds serious, anyway keep on doing what you do best... whatever it is
Added a link to the voice over blooper reel. Moddb.com
lol lots of source
Sauce?
Like the commentary, glad it has been added back in, but could you include the information at the bottom back in like before?
Telling you what game it's for, Single or Multiplayer, and the file size etc.
I really liked it.
We found that it would take up too much space on the screen for far too long.
i think it was very informative :(
I too believed that the information like size and multiplayer/singleplayer was helpful, even if it was just there for two seconds. Atleast its there for me to pause and look back at it.
Having the info was good, I liked to know the impact on my hard drive, and if its a single/multi game.
Like the style of this one tho.
The links to the mods are right there, you can easily check that stuff yourself.
Anyway, Henley, this was an excellent Video Spotlight, your narration really does add some personality to it and is very informative.
It's very good to know whether a mod is just a graphical update to a game and what new features an update provides. It's also very nice to hear why a game/mod got to be the months Staff Selection.
DUN DUN DUNNN was the best bit.
and yeah, lots of Source.
lol it wud b funny if he said at the end Now SPONSORED BY VALVE XD
Yes! Love the new commentary!
Awesome, my GraviNULL trailer was shown! :D
Yeah it was :D
Minor nag, isn't Jailbreak getting too much credit, it's my brain production and I ain't a Jailbreak developer :P Ofcourse, their textures/models and Wills being part of the team do deserve a mention.
Lol sorry my bad.
What happened to Wills anyways? He seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth
Serious stuff.
Jailbreaksource.com
Greatly appreciated my good man.
lol so much source, it looks like there are no other mods then source mods :P
Cool, source engine rocked this month :)
Btw, this month you put some of the best mods ;)
I love the new commentary, it's so great! :D
Awsomes mods are awsome
Best video spot of the month so far, if u ask me!
Very nice with the commentary!
AtmosFear looks pretty sweet. I used to play Firearms for HL1 when I was a little kid all the time and so I may try out the sequel.
Just wondering how a mod gets on here?
Taken from the top of the page(might not be there if you checking this out through a mod link):
The problem is that the mod I'm thinking of has a really great front page and is a brilliant mod but its articles are nothing special :\
Well, tell the mod team that they need to get someone working on improving those articles :P
That's just how ModDB rolls, as a mod developer, you manage your own stuff, put some effort into it and they'll put yah in the spotlight, if not...
lol, it was hilarious to hear you say 'Spooky' and 'Dun dun duuuuuun'. :D
Lots of 'Sauce' engine :P
I like a lot more when he is talking. Because I can't hear the guns :D-
Anyone else notice it says June 2010 in the article?
I like the new approach, where you also comment a bit on the mod.
Source is the most used engine cause its a EasyToUse Editor , ability for custom mods with different settings models and materials. Quickly said its a Quick Game Editor.
It is not.
It is. Ive been using ValVes models and reanimating em. It easy as ****. Same with compiling. Luv it.
Good job Henly. This was a very good video.
What is so great about firearms source?
