Mapping is what I do, mainly for the Source engine, I want to learn other engines and skills too though, Unreal Engine 3, Sandbox 2, modeling, texturing and more. What's been taking most of my time lately is my school project. Me and my friend are going to make a Half-Life 2 singleplayer mod mainly to test our skills and to learn how it really is to make a mod. Most of the time up 'til now has gone into writing a story, a script, planning and so on (boring stuff).
But now we've come to the fun part, actually making all the stuff! We're gonna make our own models, textures, choreographed scenes, dialogue sounds and maps. Our current aim is to finish the introduction map so we have something awesome to show during the presentation.
Today we recorded the dialogue, I'm doing the players voice and our mate is doing Steve's (the only dude in there) voice. And I have to say that the recordings turned out extremely awesome! Top sound quality and very good voice acting from both me and him, it's gonna be totally awesome once I have it all lip synced and choreographed. I'll definitely upload something once I've got some more stuff to show, that scene is top priority right now.
Well, right after that PM we have to write, *sigh* more writing.

any idea of it's direction at the moment?
yeah, the rat sword was my first model, so i didn't know what to do too much, but it has at least an extra 20 in the sharp of the blade, and anywhere else they're's a sharp edge, i didn't know how to delete edges and connect vertacies.
I'll remake it and see the polycount.
got it down to below 200 tris!
the handle is still low poly, and could use a face lift, but still. it's alright.
thanks for the comment on my model of the overgrowth rat sword.
yeah, the texture was just to see if i could actually texture a weapon and get it working ingame, i'm probably going to clean the uv mapping up a bit to make it easier to texture.

hey Silverfisk when are you done with Overgrowth?
I really want to try it when it's done.
I'm not developing the game, I'm just a fan in charge of keeping Overgrowth's ModDB profile up to date.
If you want to try out the game you can preorder it, that way you'll get access to weekly alpha versions of the game.
But if you don't want to preorder it I'm sure there will be a demo available when the game is released, so you can try it out.
