Greetings fellow Praetorites,

We are happy to announce the official relaunch of Yuuzhan Vong at War.

You may have seen already a lot of changes in appearance and style of our moddb-page, as well as in the released images. This is because everything has changed. But what does this mean in particular?

The Staff

First of all, this mod is no longer a two person operated mod. When this mod was first announced, Burntstrobe had actually been working in secret on a Vong project for over a year. We have merged the two mods together and have decided to go public with our announcement. Now, Burntstrobe leads the team, with Seregruth and Shimmrra in second command. The mod team's name has also changed to "The Shapers" - our organization of core team members (Seregruth, Lord Enpremi, Shimrra, Burntstrobe, Geroenimo, Cheesecake and Warb Null). With the name change, the idea behind the team has also changed. We believe through collaboration greater things can be achieved. We are making this mod not only because we are fans of the era, but also because it is something that the community has wanted for years. We have compiled some of the most talented modders the community can offer. We will be trying to push the game to its limits while also showcasing our talents.

The Mod

You remember the old version, where the plan was primarily to get the Vong into the game and just focus on them? Well, this is not the case anymore. Here are some of the new features which will be in the full version of this mod:

• Far over 300 new ground and space units in 3 playable factions and 7 sub-factions

A new designed galaxy with around 100 planets framed in a concept of improved connections and
   locations

• Large maps, individually designed for any planet, with new specific environment sets and buildings

Improved gameplay: realistic economy, military and research systems

And much more....

The ModDB-Page

Getting interested in this concept? We will frequently release new screenshots, articles and other stuff to show our progress. Many of our ideas and concepts have never been seen before. For this reason, we are keeping quiet about many of our surprises. As the mod progresses, we will start to reveal more.

On the front page you can see a lot of closed Villips . The more we will advance in our progress, the more villips will be opened until finally the Yuuzhan Vong arrives in this galaxy... (keep an eye on the horizon sky...)

Unit profiles and ingame footages will be released every time a unit is finished by the modelling departement and ready to be coded.

There is much happening behind the scenes with our work, and we are choosing to display material only when it is ready. We are striving for quality and innovation over speed of delivery. So please feel free to comment in our forums and we encourage active conversations, the more you are excited about our work, the more we want to work on it. Please do not post questions of "when will this be released" and "are you almost done yet". We are working hard to create something special, just stay with us and keep our motivation going with your comments.

Enjoy the new pics and textured units, you can also see our Galaxy Map by clicking on the fist open Villip. This is fully coded, functional and in game already. More will be explained later about it :)

Until next time,

Do-ro'ik vong pratte!

Shimrra / Burntstrobe

Nice! Good to see work being posted again! I'm sure this mod will take a while to come out, but that's OK, because it looks like it will be very different than the existing mods.

well, if the yuuzahn-vong sent an emmisary (war ambassador) with a small compliment of troops and a small compliment of about 10 coral skippers, to try and get us to surrender early, do you think we will try to capture them alive for torture and dissection, and possibly reverse engineering of their organic tech? or do our best to blast them into atoms before they even come within 50 feet of ground level?

10 corral skippers?!! and a handful of troops! They have no chance. There are millions of soliders, and tens of thousands of ships, planes, tanks, etc. on earth. Even if we just lined up and waited to be shot, the Vong would still need decades to kill us all with that few troops. They'd either need a ship that could bombard the planet from space, or some kind of biological weapon that would do the killing for them.

well I think that we have three options:
1 - when they attack us then we can fight back as soon as we can and with everything what we have, but if they win than will likely remain about 1/5 people and after that it is almost impossible to rebel later
2- on the beginning of the attack we must not try to fight back but to obey to them, and later when the enemy feel safe then we need to hit them with everything what we have we have
3 - do not need to return the fight, but escape from the planet
BUT IN ANY CASE WE wWILL HAVE HUGE LOSSES
