Install instructions:
1. Download and install The Elder Scrolls 2.0 (Full Version) + The Elder Scrolls 2.0.1.
Of course, you need to apply 4GB patch or LAA patch as well. LINK
2. Go into your The_Elder_Scrolls/data and delete the whole "world" folder"!
3. Download and install TES Unofficial Patch 2.0 (either of the main downloads), and extract it into your Medieval II Total War/mods folder, so that it merges with your previously installed TES 2.0.1 (you will know that you are doing it correctly if it asks you to overwrite, hit yes).
4. Extract content of this hotfix into your The_Elder_Scrolls and overwrite (if it doesnt ask your to overwrite, you are putting it at wrong place! ). To be able to launch the mod, your folder must be called "The_Elder_Scrolls"
5. You must use "TES UP" launcher to play the mod, other launchers will not work. Once the launcher opens, disable "full loging" (unless its already disabled), then "apply changes" and choose "Start Mod". Rather double check whether your setting is the same as in the picture below in case you have issues.
Dont change anything in the launcher unless you know what you are doing!
6. You are ready to play! (You need to start a new game) If you have performance or other issues, see the tips below.
KNOWN BUGS (havent had energe left to fix it right now) - incorrect voices for some factions, see below how you can fix
This version is packed with new features so I highly recommend for you check the release article - moddb LINK, TWC LINK
In case the launcher settings change for some reason, I show below the setting you ought to have (left upper doesnt matter, left bottom matters significantly, and the one the right side should also matter)
If you crash upon launching the game, you probably failed to follow install instructions so try again. (4GP patch is a must)
If you crash upon loading saves, try running a quick/custom battle first.
If you have low FPS, try to turn off shadows, decrease unit size, or decrease your graphics in general and give high priority to Medieval II in Task Manager. If you have lags/lows FPS, you can try this TOOL.
If you have steam overlay enabled, it should help with performance greatly, if you disable it.
It is recommended to enable creatures fix in the launcher.
I didnt have time to figure out how to fix voices, they are incorrectly assigned to some factions. However, you can fix it yourself by deleting "events.idx" and "events.dat" in The_Elder_Scrolls/sounds, but unfortunately it makes other sounds not work (like the ones in menu or when you hit end turn), while the music still works fine. So up to you if you want to do this trade before I provide a proper working fix to this.
I will probably reupload the main download at some point to include the hotfix, and possible other fixes (like the audio) at some point sooner before the 2.0.1 patch :)
As its packed with new content, its also naturally expectable that there will be lot of bugs and and stuff to fix. Thus, a 2.0.1 hotfix/patch fixing various larger issues and adding the content that I havent managed to finish in time will be up relatively soon. In case there is some serious issue, it will be up asap.
In case you encounter any bugs please report it, so we can fix it for the hotfix/patch. Also, if you have crashes, you can send the crashing save or or log.txt file from The_Elder_Scrolls/logs
Hey Jadli, the "creatures fix" that you have "unchecked" is fixing all the elephant-skeletons of any giant units in the mod - such as the dragons, the silt striders and what-not - I'd have that checked as well to prevent any giant units from crashing when they are many.
Ah good point thanx. Ill add to installl recommendations for ppl to enable it :)
Thanks
You are welcome :D
I just reuploaded the hotfix with information scroll about dungeons/missions/guilds as the beginning of each campaign. Nothing essential to play, though its save compatible so you can easily download and continue your games if you want, when you start a new game, you would see the scroll as well.
It also has fix for Telvanni new generals, hence its not save compatible anymore. And that makes it a bit more essential fix, as Telvanni faction might die later in game
And the 4th reupload, you gotta hate me :D Nothing essential, just some stuff i forgot to include before (I thought I have, such as some more new unit cards) and fixing some tiny incovenvient bugs (such as Anequina getting a few silver units in TBW, etc), so you probably dont have to bother with reapplying the patch
Villages are not upgradable, tried it with several factions in several campaigns. But otherwise you've done a great job man!
Thanks!
No idea how did that happen and from looking at the files I cant figure out why is it happening suddenly... I suppose I will fix it for the upcoming patch :)
very cool mod, but pleeeease give back vanila models of imperial units, this skyrim style is very specific
