"War... War never changes. The reasons why we fight these wars remain much the same; some are fought to conquer, for religious and ideological beliefs, other wars are fought over gold, oil, spices – natural resources and money. Power is the key element. This war is no different - except there's nothing natural about Tiberium. The year is 1995 and we have just begun to open up our eyes to view a brave new future, some will come to say it's a horrific future. It is the Dawn of the Tiberian future." --- Tiberian Dawn is a total-conversion for the game Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars. Our goal is to bring C&C1;to a new engine, with enhanced features and graphics while also bringing back much of the classic style of gameplay while not taking steps back from what C&C3;implemented in the series as gameplay features. This is not of course our only goal - the idea of the total-conversion was inspired by an art piece by Godwin that showed the cruelty and bitter humanity of...

Is it me or is nearly everything complete with the major exception of infantry?

Almost everything is complete in some form or fashion. We still have a number of the nitty-gritty details to put in, refine, and perfect. That, really, is where much of our time has gone to recently; and it is that time, care, and attention to detail that will be most evident when people play it.

Does this mean that a first release is close or is it too early to tell?

It's still too early to tell. We've got a number of build-up animations and damage states and the like yet to do (things that you can miss with still images). The key here is that we do them well, and that is time-consuming.

We're currently looking into creating another expose(much like the one on the recreation of the FMV sequences) that will highlight and showcase some of these details.

This is just superb! Tiberian Dawn was always my favorite C&C game, mainly beacuse of the feel and atmosphere it had.
This appears to present that TD feeling flawlessly.

Weapons Factory looks beast, not to mention thosemammoth tanks look damn smexy.

.but canomeone tell me. If they'll fix the Damage tables? i thought it was rediculous how a 120mm Smoothbore Canon seemed unable to harm infantry, and how Minigunners, seemed to be able to take down Tanks and Buldings with ease when amassed. I know the development team wants to be as classical as possible. But i think it was unreal in the original. Also, do you think Infantry could be built in squads this time around? Please?

Description

Due to recent up-ticks in Nod Activity, GDI has elected to erect a sizable base in the Green Acres region. All Nod commanders are urged to be vigilant, but mindful of the consequences; this GDI base is not a bear to be woken until a sizable response is in place.
