Seven years after the first day of contact, Earth has now
become occupied by the Necrotrophs; a name coined by the Resistance scientists
to refer to those who harbor the organism that has full control over all
sensations and consciousness.
The Necrotrophs are not zombies or the undead but are humans
that were mentally reverted into an animal-like state; meaning, they don’t just
simply try to claw at you but they hunt you. They have similar instincts to
that of a pack of wolves or other predators.
This idea is reiterated in the level design by giving it
that “Urban Jungle” look to it. There are trees, tall grass, and obstacles
everywhere. This allows the Necrotrophs to weave in and out between all of these
elements and gives them an edge when they hunt down the Human Resistance. An
interesting element is also the tall grass. It not only works as a great way to
reveal every players position (through movement sound fx), but it can give both
teams enough dense foliage that allows them to hide – or at the very least masks
portions of their body as they maneuver around the map increasing the
difficulty of connecting a shot.

This video gives you an idea of one of the map objectives we plan to use for The Rising. The scenario to this objective is that while the majority of those who harbor the organism have been turned into savages that roam the city streets, some people were declared to be too "valuable" to waste. Instead of just becoming another foot soldier to these sentient beings, they were allowed a certain amount of free thought and intelligence so that they could build structures such as the huge wall barriers (the ones you see in the "Level_Walk_Around" video) and these atmosphere-changing machines. Essentially, they are being built to transform the Earth’s atmosphere into one that they are more comfortable with. This will allow them to leave our human bodies and go into their true form. Visually we wanted to convey that the Earth was in “pain” and was “dying” from these machines. The more you destroy them the less fog and lighting you see and eventually the sky will become clear. Keep in mind these models are placeholders.

You'll find out in a couple more weeks ;) Lets just say that there is going to be a MASSSSSIVE update soon.
Would like to see a zombie :/ great map btw :)
awesome mod! but is it a co-op game or a player v.s player
(zombie v.s humans)
It's more like player and NPCs (Necrotrophs + Necro bots) vs PLayer (Resistance).
That would be Co-op
This looks really freakin awesome, keep up the good work! Can't wait to get my hands on it!
