In The Rising, there is no place to hide, there is no escape, and you will not be rescued. The only hope available for mankind will come from your determination and resilience. The time of avoidance and submission are over. The only option is to resist.

Purdy. A little bit plastic looking, though.

Maybe that's what the grips are made out of.

If you ever handled a gun before, you would know they don't make it out of plastic. Looks good anyways

Noted. I saw the new images, and the wood texture looks wonderful. The model is amazing as well. You are a fine contribution to the rising team.

I'd suspect that the textures aren't completely done yet...
maybe I'm wrong. Sick model though, Harry is the sex.

Nice model. Just a question though, where does this mod take place? It's pretty tough to find a real AK in North America, if that's where it is...

Fisher Price makes AK-47s now!? Awesome!

putrid_being Nov 16 2010 says:

It's obviously a very WIP given that it has "sneak peak" in the title. Not to mention, given the other models that I have already seen for this game I think the AK will come out looking real nice when finished.

Mr.John Nov 17 2010 says:

As said, this is TF2 quality. Model is detailed, texture looks plastic (even the metal) and that makes it worth TF2.

Cant wait for final results and animation preview.

Looks plastic? It IS plastic in real life guys...all these people thinking guns are made of steel or something, lol.

Mkilbride Nov 17 2010 replied:

Lol, someone is living in a fairy tail world of video games. Most guns these days are made out of hard, reinforced plastic due to it being much lighter, and very durable, easier to fix / clean, too.

PeacefulPatriot Nov 17 2010 replied:

All Kalashnikov style guns are made of steel, save for the grips, which may be wooden or plastic. I'll buy that this AKM's grips are plastic, but parts of the barrel and upper reciever also seem made of plastic.

PeacefulPatriot Nov 17 2010 says:

Ehh, not really. At a new-years party, we went out shooting. Along with us, some freids had brought in all: An AK-47, two SKS rifles, a SAIGA rifle, and some other non AK weapons. AKs are fairly common in at least the US.

wilsonC Nov 18 2010 replied:

Are you sure it was a legal? Was it a fully automatic AK-47 with a 30 round mag?
Don't quote me on this but I thought you'd need a special license for a fully automatic rifle with a 30 round mag. Though there's a lot of chinese rip-off semi auto AKs with smaller mags.

PeacefulPatriot Nov 18 2010 replied:

Yeah, this was the real deal, but you're right. You do need an assault weapons permit to purchase an automatic rifle, but the rifles themselves are fairly available.
