The First Interstellar War...or as the Cap Troopers called it, simply, The Bug War....

Although the Terrans refer to the "Bugs" as Arachnids, they are not related to any Earth arachnid species and are more insectoid than arachnid in general form. However, first impressions are hard to overcome. After the nightmare attack on a defenseless Terran colony, the only survivors were convinced they were attacked by "a madman's conception of a giant, intelligent spider."
The history of the Arachnids is cloudy, but we believe it went something like this...
As the Arachnids evolved, the brain caste realized the world they had always known was no longer big enough for them. To this end they started ejecting queen eggs into space to seek out and colonize worlds by riding the cosmic currents. For 1000s of years they spread through their arm of the galaxy with no opposition. Infesting suitable planets and eradicating the former owners.
Eventually they ran into a race that had developed to the point of colonizing their own planets. This race was humanoid and had established colonies on 2 planets in their home system. After taking over one of their planets, the Arachnids came under attack from space by the former owners. This concept was foreign to them as it had never happened before in their races memory. Their brain caste engineered a queen egg that could live in space, and was released to seek out a airless asteroid or planetoid that they could colonize. This queen was able to breed a new class of space born warrior bugs. At 1st the new ship bugs were a basic fighting ship. More than capable of dealing with these new threats.
They spread further. Then they met the Tophets. The Tophets are a very advanced race, very close to the Terran Federation in technology, if not in civilization size. The Arachnids were driven back at 1st, but quickly bred newer ships that stood mandible to nose with the Tophets. Advanced as they were, the “Skinnies”, as the Terrans later came to call them, weren't a large enough race to defeat the bugs outright. Ultimately they entered a "alliance" with them. The bugs would not destroy them as long as they did what they were told. This concept was foreign to the bugs as well, but they realized they might eventually run into a greater threat than even they could deal with. Better to have the Skinnies as allies/slaves to help them than risk being caught in a war they couldn't win.
Enter the Terrans. The Federation is as big as the Arachnid empire and have an instinctive fear of bugs. Couple that with an advanced space military and technology and you have a big problem for the Arachnids. This new threat was so great that even forcing the skinnies to fight wouldn't be enough. New and bigger, more powerful warship were bred to combat this new threat to their total dominance of the galaxy.

Currently being developed by Starside R&D, this is a Total Conversion mod for the game Star Wars: EaW Forces of Corruption from Petroglyph Studios.
You decide who has the right to survive, the Terran Federation or the Arachnids and their allies, the Skinnies. It will include space & land skirmish and Galactic Conquest and is based on various aspects taken from the movie, animated TV series, and the original book.
Command your Forces in the silence of space or the roar of the battlefield, be it the Terran Federation or the Arachnid/Skinny Alliance. Use old favorites as well as brand new units developed for this conflict.

I've decided to go ahead and develop the ground side. This is a big decision though, since I tend to do 95% of the modeling. I've also picked up 2 new modelers recently from the moddb community. I've assigned them some work and hopefully they will work out. If they do, things will go much smoother.
I'm going to do a few more proof of concept models for the ground and see where it leads. However I had originally wanted to release another version of the space mod before the new year but since I'm starting up the land development again, that will be put on hold until I have a substantial land part to go along with it. That and the fact I have never modded the ground battles, infantry, etc, before means it will take longer than before.
So, that is where the mod stands currently.
Cheers,
Rebelmoon

Here's the Nantex-Class Geonosian Fighter skinned using Eville Jedi's texture. I made this for another mod that fell through.

okay cool good luck with it
i'm just saying why not just make the soldier and the bugs don't worry about building and that because you don't really see many building just troops fighting bugs
Well, if I'm going to do a TC, then it will be a TC, all or nothing.
Yes as would i worship you to... imagine seeing squads of marines run down by armies of Acrachnids!!!!
Please no worshiping...I'm my biggest critic and still don't think my work is that great...but if a few like it, that's cool. :)
I wouldn't actually worship you but no one out there has done a decent SST strategy game.
By the way, have you thought of what you might use to bulk up the ground combat units?
define bulk up
Well in the film you had men with rifles, men with rocket lauchers and men with sniper rifles.
In the CGI and wargame you had powersuits, elite powersuits, four kinds of marauders, the works...
So if you went for a nicely done skirmish you could have some powersuits (CGI) and light armour (Film)
There will be a little bit of everything, including tanks, that were developed as concepts for the CGI series but never used. There also are vehicles/bugs made for the RPG game that could be created in 3d form as well. There actually is enough info, images, drawings out there for both the MI & Arachnids that we might not use half of them. The Fed & bug ship images were almost non existent and had to be created from scratch, the ground side has a huge supply.
yes the show and rpg are going to be the inspiration, right now I beleive its going to be devided into
troopers (show armor movie armor recycled to much) being the army
grizzly suits being the marines.
the marauder armors
an apc from the show.
and MAYBE and i stress that MAYBE neodogs, cannot really see what they would do against bugs though so it would be kinda pointless. i dont think it would be worth the effort
thats currently what we are trying for i think, the bugs arent going to be any sort of problem at all, they almost have to many ground units.
