LATEST INFO 

We are having a great progress with all the scripting that is being done for the mod.
Several of the mentioned aspects are stabilized and things are going great.
In case you are interested the current MISERY development team is:
N.Aaroe, trojanuch, CrommCruac, _xXxTWiST3DxXx_, alundaio, [TZP]Loner1,
BioShocker, David.m.e., Simbalime, ScarabParamit and Sowexly.
We are supported by Magnefy, 0800 and other cool people.

REVIEWER has provided a very thorough review of the current released MISERY version 1.0 / 1.1

GENEREAL NOTICE 
MISERY version 2.0 will not be savegame compatible as the majority of files are rescripted.
Starting a new game is required. Version 2.0 will be more RAM comsuming than version 1.1.

But beta testing has ended a few weeks ago for this mod.
Other mods under that group might have some open spots though..

Good news about music. Without combat music I could actually play with music again. I kinda like this ambient one but I just hated when it changed to combat one ruining the element of surprise. I hope the ambient one won't change simply to silence (it would have the same effect)

Yeah, im now feeling a lot better, been modding these last days too. i've made some interesting skins, im going to put up some screens. and they are for N.Aaroe...ill send a pm to the group with screens...

Yeah combat music ruined Fallout's atmosphere for me (though it being fairly unrealistic does help too) with combat music going on and off too away any scare, tried on stalker for some reason and had to turn it off immediately it was just too annoying

I made an account just to say that this looks really good and I can't wait to try the mod out, well done! The changes looks wicked and I believe I share the same view on how the zone should be as you.

I do have a couple of questions that you don't have to answer but would like some insight on tho'..
1. Blowouts/emissions, what changes have you done to it?
2. Will it be impossible to hit an enemy by hip-fire?
3. Do enemies (with guns) still have a strong 'auto-aim-bot'?

1. Blowouts and emissions are only touched lighly (some sound and texture edits -barely noticeable). They do occur at a less frequent basis and Fallout is not included (PsiStorms are though).
2. That very much depends on your firearm, but as a general rule that sort of thing would be a waste of ammo.
3. Depending on their rank you will find that your foes are likely to take you down on an open field unless you are either constantly moving or skilled with your own weapon

It is only a week ago when I found out about MISERY and your other mods thanks to the 2011 nominations.
I was anticipating the hardcore-realism mod Redux v2.0, but I might just think that this could be *the* mod. After so much effort, I refuse to believe the contrary.

I just want to say I have been following this mod for quite some time, and without even playing it I can easily say it is "the mod" for Call of Pripyat!
I've been planning on doing a lets play of this mod on my youtube channel ever since I first discovered it, and I sincerely hope I can bring more attention to this masterpiece.

Yep, tested it out today, avg 70fps on maximum. All of my uploads are h.264 1080p.

Sniper was removed from that tree. Now its just a little bit of sniper ammo.

Wouldn't be MISERY if you could find a dragaonov just by talking to some guys in the beggening area right?

It actually wasn't. There is a place close to the hills where boars rest. The sniper is lying there by the root of the tree

I have installed a clean copy of COP and I have installed Misery with out any errors but after I press a key to enter the zone the game crashes to the desktop all settings are one medium. I can play I Work Alone fine with out any errors. Please help

This mod... I don't even know what to think. The graphical overhaul is amazing. The inclusion of new weapons is awesome. But the difficulty... On the verge of unplayable. I know some people are veterans of the Stalker series, but there is no need for the game to be this hard.
I wish someone would make a graphical overhaul of CoP without upping the difficulty.
The game looks amazing, why did you have to ruin it...

Check out the Complete series for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. I loved that mod for the longest time because it creates such an amazing atmosphere compaired to the vanilla game or many other mods I found. I was converted by this mod mainly because the Complete series doesn't really add any new content. More just a visual, audio, and programming tune up/overhaul. But in any case I would suggest that. Just searh for call of pripyat complete and you should get it. If I recall correctly its made by Artist Pavel

And now for the real deal - those loading times are killing me. I have a... meduimcore PC with Palit GF9800 GTX+ the 1GB version, Core 2 QUAD Q6600 @ 2,2GHz, 4 GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz and I'm runing on a OS Win7 enterprice x86 edition. Usualy I've run the vanilla CoP on ulthra with 70-90 fps @ 1440x900 screen res.

When I installed Misery the loading times became horrible. I need to wait 4 ever to get into the game. When I finaly get to play the game seem to run just fine @ 60-65 fps outdors, but, it radnomly crashes within 5 minutes with the 'X-ray 1,6 stopped working' error.

I tweaked the graphic options down to minimal as recommended and I shortened the loading time to less than a minute. The crash however still remains. At this state I am more inclined to think that this is more like a software problem rather than a hardware issue. I'm looking forward to you guys figuring that out. Your mod has great potential.

None, besides skype and maybe a web browser. But I am certain I switched them off just in case. I am going to uninstall everything (registy sweep as well) today and make a new clean install. I'll post an update if that solves the mystery.

I reinstalled everything but nothing changed. If I have time today I may start tinkering with my drivers and DX see if that solves it.
