Full concept MODIFICATION of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat that touches every game aspect including textures, sfx, music, weapons, A.I., items, weather, mutants, difficulty and much much more!
1) Beard now makes his own tea to earn some extra cash: "Beards popular hot tea made from a mixture of sugar, harmless dried mushrooms and boiled water that is said to be cleansed from radiation. Stalkers who are able to pay the price are buying this drink for long trips in The Zone. It's a good and healthy way to stay alert when you are getting tired or exploring during cold nights."
2) All weapon descriptions now include a display of possible attachments. Like this Karabiner 98k sniper rifle here. Also it shows if your USS character has expert training in the specific weapon type.
3+4) New enhanced dynamic helmet huds that also shows their current state of condition.
5+6) The furniture of The Zone is redesigned to a more grimm and dirty look.
Some of you will know that what I did with the hot tea is actually a tribute to Dmitry Glukhovsky (Metro 2033).
I remeber that in the book VDNKH always had the best mushroom tea
Fu*k yeah!VDNKH rules
i cannot believe my eyes... finally people in the world who have been exposed to that wonderful book (metro 2033). its a shame the game did the book no honor... maybe misery will fill that gap
More or less unlikely my friend. After looking through all Last-Light gameplay videos (sneaking around Nazis before killing 2 dozen of them with a minigun?!) and the trailers it looks like it will be alot more action-orientated *cough* CoD *cough* then 2033.
Oh man, Metro 2033 was sure a great book :)
Ooh, that's beautiful. My only complaint is the ammo type for the Karabiner 98 Kurz - are you supposing that Zone craftsmen recalibrated the rifle for 7.62x54mm (the weapon by default uses 7.92x57mm)?
He will most likely edit it to use that ammo type.
Batches of converted weapons are bound to appear. Not necessarily zone work. Maybe just a hijacked shipment planned for somewhere else. I'm sure an edit with a plausable reason could be added if it matters that much.
To be honest, it might be for the sake of simplicity. If you're an illegal firearms trader looking to make cash in the zone, you're gonna sell 5.45, 5.56, and 7.62 of both varieties (not including pistol calibers, of course). 8mm Mauser is a pricier round because not many weapons are chambered for it anymore. You'd have to buy in small amounts and hope to find that rare Stalker with a K98.
On the flip side, maybe it could start off in 8mm Mauser, and Cardan can rechamber it for you. :P
Ohh I cant wait for the nights I spend on this, going all over Zaton searching for ammo stashes. ^_^
Fantastic work my friend. Tiny details like these make this mod greater. Nice thinking.
Looking good, Although I am not sure why the ammo type is an issue if that ammo is not in the mod. I am not sure whether many extra ammo's have been added but does it really matter? NO.
As for mushroom tea If it is the type I am thinking of I certainly would not be using it in the zone. What a trip that would be. Nice addition though being able to get a hot flask to take on night duty, wicked.
Hot tea is a tribute to Metro? no I dont know what you mean why is that?
In the Metro 2033 universe mushrooms provide the staple food source. As described in the book. Artyom's home station makes excellent Mushroom Tea as far as I can remember.
I know they have mushroom vodka but i dont know any thing about tea...
LOLed at the Metro 2033 reference.
Anybody else see the reflection of somebodies face on the front of the flask? LOL, well... It looks more like a tiger.
Is that an StG 44 I spot in the upper right corner?
@ Derranged: It almost resembles a Controller!
Yerp, that is an StG 44!
And I didn't see the controllers face but, oh well...
I am so excited, coming out right before my birthday! Love all these weapon changes.
if u want like ur helmet to keep its good condition dont put ur head in front of the bullet ( advice )
1 flask = 1 usage ?
Btw keep posting these kind of screenshots with all kind of details ( ofcourse only if u want to ) nice details and textures wowwwww
Whoa, that tea looks delicious. Except for the small clumps and bits of mushroom that is left in it <.<
Shrooms can only make this better!
so, uhh... whens release?
Seriously?
... As I sat down on the old chair, the wooden piece of furniture a mere relict of Tschernobyl's past slowly falling apart, I couldn't help but notice how broken and cracked the glass of my protective helmet had become. During fierce combat out in the zone, you never really get the chance to observe such small details. Your vision grows used to the glass, no matter how screwed up it gets, and eventually melts with it as if you had been born together as one.
The thick cracks were traveling all over my once expensive piece of equipment, the damaged bits obscuring a good 25 percent of visibility. Scratching my filthy beard in grim thought, I slowly moved the old cup of mushroom tea to my mouth. A horrible taste, something you'd think humanity would only accept once the bombs had fallen, driving everyone underground. A bitter and blunt taste it was indeed, yet my body was in need of something else then low-percent vodka every now and then. Water had become a rarety in this part of the world, and my few coins should not be thrown down the drain just to replace a much cheaper but still acceptable drink.
A tip on the shoulder pulling me out of my thinking process.
"Hey, hey man! Welcome home! Still in one piece I see?"
I greeted the middle-aged, cyberpunk-dressed guy with a few words. C4 his name, ridicilous in outer appearence, dependable and professional arms-dealer behind the curtains. Of course, everyone in the bar knew that he was THE person to question about ... "special" items.
"Got your stuff, man. Lovely scope, let me tell ya. Fits right on top, a beauty it is. Clear as crystal, accurately adjusted and fresh from the conveyer belt."
"Thanks C4. A lovely precent to get you over the taste of this ****** drink. Does our deal still stand?"
"Sure thing, dude. Hey without ya help, I'd have been ******* chimera-meat out there. I still owe ya big time. By the way, how long you gonna stay?"
"Not long, it's gonna be a busy week. You know, the Zone's a girl you shouldn't date... She will give you everything, but also take it all away in a matter of seconds if you don't treat her well..."
Exhausted from my harsh day, I soon stept into a tiny room, the cold wind of the night slightly penetrating the old walls. A few bucks for a somewhat safe place to stay at always seemed inviting. Besides, tomorow would be a busy experience once again. This marks my 576th day in the Zone. Still alive and breathing. Resting...
Very good concept development once again my friend, thumbs up for enhancing the mod concept the right way.
576 days in The Zone would make an absolute stalker veteran in my book and I bet this guy is either about to find what he came for or has forgotten all about why he even came to begin with.
The taste of mushroom tea is depending on personal preferences but we have to consider the fact that Earl Grey would probably be looked upon as rather unmanly in this place. Also, harmless food mushrooms actually do contain many good things for a stressed out body.
Maybe there will be a quest of exchanging mushroom Zone's tea for a bag of pǔěrchá tea from one of the stalkers ? Any gamestories with tea
Also i have to say that bottle model of thermos is sick!
10 points to griff...sorry for N.Aaroe!
The visor HUD and scratches are a little too clear and in-focus. As anyone who has worn scratched-up glasses can attest to, all of those scratches and gouges is just going to be a big white blur. You're not going to see the nose cover either, since your eyes are going to be on either side of it.
I didn't even think about that one. Hell, I'm wearing glasses right now and it didn't occur to me.
Will it be possible to disable the visor HUD? I've never really liked it in my games, it ruins my immersion. Really pumped for Misery tho! It looks great!
I love it!
Although the last thing I'd want to eat in an irradiated 'zone' is a mushroom.
Fits the casual attitude to such things that stalkers who get shot at all day would have. It's quite brilliant, makes me chuckle.
I think that mushroom tea have no sense in Zone. Mushrooms absorbs all negative components around them - so this tea must be VERY radioactive - complete poison.
Mushroom tea fits the plot of Metro 2033 perfectly - because in underground people have limited resources to growing food - no sunlight, but also no radiation - that very important.
I understand that you want to add some atmospheric small thighs to your mod.
Also traders in not so limited in resources - look at this - ammo, med-kits, food, outfits - all this came from Big Land.
It's cleansed from radiation. Beard may have his own method for growing Mushrooms, perhaps involving radiation absorbing artifacts such as Wrenched or Bubble in their cultivation. After all, we have bread that isn't radioactive!
VDNCh hot tea awesome man
Artyom will love you for this :D and of course full metro :D
I saw "Mauser" in one of the pictures, I will get this damn mod just for that reason alone.
Will beards hot mushroom tea have a psychedelic effect? Would be awesome to get the brainscorcher like trip effects from stalker shoc!
So you really think that person with bullet holes in mask can walk in the bar just like that? :D This makes absolutely no sense really. Where is realism here I ask you.
