There already is companion functionality in the mod, it's just disabled by default. However i can't really remember how to enable it, perhaps someone else will be able to help you... -- Author of a bunch of tweaks and stuff:

There was a companion option once in misery mod before, but they disabled because telling your buddy to go away crashed the game, and was quite hard to pinpoint |

I understand there was a companion system before, but this one seems pretty nice. Plus, we don't know if they'll ever fix the companion system already in misery. |

Wow, impressive work! Testing this right now, will report back! Thank you for your work! Working good so far, but when a military guy is spawned, choosing the dialogue option 'I'd like to ask you something' crash the game, also, they tends to keep a great distance from me :p and how can I dismiss them? Well! BTW! If you want to change the distance between you and companion, just go to gamedata > scripts, then open xr_companion.ltx. There is the first line which is local desired_distance = 10. The lower the number the closer the companion is to you. Last but not least, you cannot dismiss companions when you spawn them, the only way to say goodbye is putting a bullet hole in their ass |

Download this COMPANION VULNERABLE. Now they will now be vulnerable . But the problem is, those two buddies you've spawned would still be in invulnerable stage, so you want to get rid of them, just try to get away from them for about 120m, then they will try teleport to your current location. In orther words, you will be able to put bullet through those buddies |

Hey guys, I have the Steam ver. and Misery 2.1.1 works perfectly before I add the companion mod. I'm drag and dropping the companion spawner files above into the gamedata/config and scripts folders. With and without editing the fsgame.ltx file, I get an error with an Xray file before the game loads up and closes. I really want this mod and I know I'm probably doing something wrong. Thanks guys. |

You could try doing the companion mod before installing Misery. It might be overwriting key Misery files... |

Thanks for the quick reply, Jasper, but that doesn't work, the mod overwrites the spawner. Please I can't play without my companions! It's too scary to go out alone!! Even spawning stalkers isn't fun because they run away to who knows where the instant you spawn them. Oh wait a second, what about the smart code you put in with the NPC you spawn? Does that give them an AI script, such as to follow the actor? If anyone has a companion spawner mod that works or that you edited, post it here and I will thank you a million times! Misery is compilation of various mods that could be found in comunity. Unfortunately, while some of mods works just fine without any other mods installed it does not work well with some other tweak from different mod. Companion mod was planed for 2.0 but it was dissabled due to conflicts and CTD with some other mods included in Misery. Team was forced to make hard decisions what cool mod to include and what to dissable. So choice is made to exclude companion mod in favor something else. Most skilled scripters are no longer active due to various real life issues, so rest of us doing what we can to improve mod. -- |

It's not on any current burner at all AFAIK. Next release on another engine is most likely scenario. I believe Call of Chernobyl has it working, but I have not taken the time to see how that works yet. |

I just kill everything myself, more fun. TBH, I don't ever expect companion mods on Xray engines to ever be any good. It's just not designed for that. Like vehicles, which work, but badly ... the engine doesn't do it well. |
