There aren't many appearances of the R-22 Spearhead (which is a precursor to the A-wing much as the Z-95 Headhunter is the precursor to the X-wing). Since I wanted to add this ship for pirate factions or as planetary defense forces for...other-as-yet-to-be-annouced factions...I simply used the concept art for the A-wing as a guide. This is the same way that the Z-95 was developed so it seemed appropriate :)
Now this is one detail on a starfighter! The skin is a masterpiece!

Umm, where do these pause-button-like insignia come from? Do they belong to the pirate-faction? Btw, this is imo the best looking variant of the three A-Wings, keep it up!
The triangle means nothing but is just an aspect of the design. I'm really glad you like it :)
Technicality though... This isn't an A-wing ;) It's the predecessor, which is called the R-22 Spearhead. Notice the differences in the design.
Oh, ok. Didn't read the complete description, sorry. So, will there be a difference between the stats of a normal A-Wing and this R-22-type?
Yes. The R-22 will be essentially equivalent to the Z-95 with more points to it's top speed. The R-22 was developed after the Z-95 though (which was a late Clone Wars fighter) so it will have armor and shields that are just a tad better.
The Z-95 was developed decades prior to the Clone Wars. Sorry, big stickler for facts. Love the look of your mod so far, and I'm looking forward to trying it out!
Bummer that the R-22 isn't available to the main factions. Is it possible to allow them to be used via recruiting or mission rewards?
These and the Z-95s are not usable by the player, right? Just pirates or planetary militias?
Also, will pirates and planetary militias have larger ships?
Yes and yes. Some AI factions will have biggrr ships than others...and factions like the Hutts will be less organized with junkier ships, etc.
Oh, that'll be pretty cool. Will some of the more individualist groups (say, CorSec) start out as separate from there allies (the NR, in this case)?
Or was CorSec aligned with the NR?
(I suppose the alternative would be having Corellia as the only/cheapest place to buy the CEC ships...)
CorSec will be mentioned only for (as you guessed) the discounted prices for Corellian ships built on said planet. I only plan to include the distinct and somewhat major sub-factions. To name a few that I am considering: Hapans, Corporate Sector, Chiss (adding more than where they are in v4) and others.

There has always been but yes, the Z-95 will appear for some factions and it will be redone to match the level of quality of the other models.
