Set in the aftermath of Red Alert 3, the global superpowers have been devastated by the war and an uneasy peace has descended onto the war-torn world. Yet the actions committed in the time-stream still have grave repercussions, as the paradox comes to a head and the impossible becomes possible... Red Alert 3 Paradox is an unofficial expansion pack project for Red Alert 3. Looking to expand the gameplay as much as possible, Paradox promises more than thrice as many units as the original, with dozens of new units in the existing sides and five new factions arising; the patriotic Confederate Revolutionaries, the sinister Mediterranean Syndicate, the otherworldly Atomic Kingdom of China, the noble Order of the Talon and the horrifying Electrical Protectorate.

Somehow they got a little different skin then original Allied units... but cool :D I am a little confused that it got a little gun and could destroy so many air units in short time :D

I think the jist of it is that while the individual slugs are pretty small, the Icarus sends out so much of it that it's target is hit by a wall of lead. Like the Phalanx CIWS.

This is probably going to be pretty essential to protect your air forces from an Achilles in Allied mirrors.

The cannon looks a bit small to me. Or is that kind of the point? Like, you'd fly over it thinking "Pfft, what's that puny thing gonna do?" and then it rips through your aerial force leaving you thinking "WHAT THE F***"?

There are 2 deployed Icaruses (Icarii?) in the screenshot - you can see a bit better if you click on "View Original" at the top. It's also a little easier to recognize in-game, as the turrets move back and forth.

Yes, I think that the two deployed Icari is the one on the far left, and the second one from the right...

This is good, Allies ground anti air really sucked so bad. Enough of them together was good but Their little fireballs took so long to hit targets that by the tiem you did yolur unit was already dead. In contrast to sovs quick instant kill you know? :)

Description

The Icarus, seen here, is the Allies ground based T2 anti-air, part of the "T2 Trio". Though it must be deployed in order to fire it's main weapon (which is an Icarus Cannon, exactly the same as that on the Hydrofoil) it does extremely large amounts of damage per second and when not deployed moves at the exact same rate as the Guardian and Horizon tanks, making them easy to use together. When it reaches Heroic level veterancy, the Icarus replaces it's regular gattling gun with the Daedalus spectrum gun, making the Icarus one of the best AA units in the game!
