READ THE MANUAL AND README.TXT BEFORE PLAYING
A NOTE FOR BEGINNERS:
The AI is challenging, depending also on the map. The easiest map so far is Country Roads. If you are a beginner set the easy game difficulty in the option menu, otherwise you might find the game frustrating. You can increase the difficulty setting later, when you have learned the game mechanisms.
INSTALLATION:
Unzip the file in the Mods folder of Men of War. If it does not exist, create it and then unzip the mod there. Start Men of War, go to Option, then go to the MOD tab. There look for the mod in the left list, select it and use the arrow to move to the right list. Press Apply.
KNOWN ISSUES:
The reinforcements menu might cross the display boundaries sometimes, especially when you are using a 16:10 monitor. There is not much I can do because the reinforcement menu is hardcoded, so I can't change it. I've tried to add more reinforcement categories, so It shouldn't be a great problem now. I'm sorry but apparently making a slider for menus and windows was too hard for DMS
MOD GOALS:
Men of War is probably the best ww2 strategy game on the market, but it lacks most of all one thing: a skirmish mode where you can have huge battles against an AI player. It is a shame that you have so many units available that you can rarely use in the campaigns.
Battlefield mode is a unique skirmish mode, more advanced than those you can find in Assault Squad, whose objectives are the following:
• Create a challenging single player skirmish with a great variety of battles.
• Build a sandbox to allow inexperienced players to set up their own scenario quickly given a prebuilt map.
BATTLEFIELD MODE IN DETAILS:
Battlefield mode is a skirmish mode based on map point controls. Unlike multiplayer games, control points provide resources to buy reinforcements. Each control point grants you command points, used to buy reinforcements, and tech points. Tech points are needed in order to unlock more advanced units. Every minute you receive a new amount of command and tech points based on the control points you own.
Besides each nation can use a set of Support Commands which unlock Support Operations. Support Operations are special abilities like airstrikes or special unit reinforcements which can be unlocked by support points. Some control points provide you with these support points.
CURRENT PROGRESS:
The mod now includes several Battlefield scenarios and 5 playable factions (Germany, USA, Commonwealth, Japanese Empire and Soviet Union). Besides I have completely reworked gun stats to make them more realistic (based on penetration tables from www.tarrif.net) and added new units (some taken from other mods, see the credits in readme.txt).
FUTURE GOALS:
• Include Soviet Union and Axis allied nations as playable factions in the Battlefield mode.
• Convert the mod for Assault Squad.
• Make some tutorial missions for the Battlefield mode.
• Write a tutorial explaining how to set up your custom battlefield scenarios.
• Create a campaign for each of the nations.

This patch contains the Soviet Union faction and 5 tutorial maps, very useful for beginners. The Soviet Union features two unique traits: modernizaiton and leader units.
Modernization is used to improve existing units: Soviet Union basic units can be modernize to improve their efficiency. Each category (infantry, vehicles and artillery) has 2 levels of modernization. When you activate the modernization the unit of the lower level of modernization will be replaced by a better one as long as the modernization is active. For example if you activate modernizaiton 2 for tanks, the T-34/76 mod. 1941 will be replaced by the T-34/85.
Leader units are special units which, under ceratain conditions, unlock Leader Abilities. Leader Abilities are accessible through the reinforcement menu and does not cost point. For example if you call in a T-34 Command Tank (available with the Tank Guard Support Command) and you are close enough to an allied disabled tank, it will unlock an ability to replace the armored losses for free.

As you might have already noticed, I've added 5 tutorial maps. Since I was very busy and I didn't want to delay the release of the new patch any further, I wasn't able to test them all scrupulously, so even if you've already played this mod I ask you to test the tutorial maps in order to improve them. Basically I need you to check the following points:
If you have any suggestions please let me know.For the same reasons please excuse me if you find any bugs in the battlefield maps, There shouldn't be any but if you find something (such as missing defense units, AI not starting, etc.) let me know and I will fix them as soon as possible.

Unique and much needed, in my opinion, mod, that provides the opportunity for a good old random "multiplayer-style" (unscripted, unlike any scenario, that come in a sackful) comp-stomp on a great variety of maps, which was long missing for so many Men of War players.

Apparently you have never played even basic Men of War before. It depends on the cannon penetration, you can shoot a Tiger with a stuart even 30 times and you don't destroy it. That doesn't depend on the AI difficulty. The AI receives reinforcements according to the control points it has, if it owns the whole map it will get reinforcements faster.

It already happens (for example it stops calling in tanks if its income would be less than 200 points per minute and it doesn't use support anymore, nor elite infantry), the problem is that the AI is not very scalable, I've built it based on my skill in playing the mod, but maybe it is too hard. I will rework the AI adding more difficulty levels to the game, but first I want to convert the game for Assault Squad. In any case try reading the tutorial (in the tutorial section of this page) it has some useful hints.
does this work for multiplayer?
In theory yes, (coop only since it is a singleplayer scenario) but I've never tested it properly, so expect some bugs.
Someone told me the dl link does not work. Apparently it is a problem with download mirrors in the whole site, check back later.

I don't know, maybe, but I'm saying MAYBE, for the next weekend, I don't know if I will be able to work on it on Monday. One day is more than enough to do what I need, but i haven't had a free day in 3 weeks.
