So now that I have all the assets together now, both from my own work and Ltd's stuff, I hold all the cards and now it's all up to me to finish things up. The purpose of this thread is to put in one place what you should expect from this first release and also what I have left to do to get to that point.

Let's start with what to expect:

What you're going to get isn't some crude early or pre-alpha or anything like that. There is a rather large chunk of overall progress done.

Featuring:

14 Fully Playable Factions:

Kingdom of England
Kingdom of France
Kingdom of Scotland
Kingdom of Hungary
Kingdom of Poland
Kingdom of Castile
Holy Roman Empire
Latin Empire
Empire of Nicaea
County of Flanders
Republic of Venice
Kievan Rus
Mongol Horde
Cuman Confederacy

Around 125 units with virtually all custom models and textures. (With a HUGE amount of help and support from these modders listed here:Twcenter.net)

Plenty of new UI work done including Unit Cards, Faction Emblems, Unit Descriptions, and more!

Some animation and gameplay changes to more suit the timeframe, nothing huge though.

Now I personally haven't paid that much attention to Naval Battles so don't expect much to do there. Also there is currently no campaign mode in this mod, YET.

That's basically what to expect, that isn't a big list but it'll shine through when you play it. Now lets get to what I still have to do:

1. The unit descriptions(this might get postponed due to time constraints)
2. Implementing some imposter models
3. Several Templar/Hospitaller/Santiago units
4. Most of the Bodyguard units and some officer adjustments
5. Barded Horses for Scotland and Flanders
6. Unit Cards for Nicaea and Latin Empire
7. SOME balancing.

That might seem like a lot, but it isn't really. I can easily get that done in the week's time we have left. I got all of Flanders done in two days people, this is child's play for me. Okay that's all folks, GET HYPED!

Question: are you going to keep the horrendous Rome II's building system?

Will the release on the 18th feature any changes to the campaign UI? And will you overhaul the political/religious systems, building trees, culture, etc.? And will there be special events or crusades/jihads? Sorry for all the questions.

The first release on the 18th is going to be custom battle only. It will feature 14 playable factions with all the early era units with some exceptions. A good amount of UI changes will be featured as well. Namely the ones related to the custom battle. I'll post a more detailed summary once we get closer to release day.

Okay sweet, I still don't know if you have it planned, but a campaign extension to this would be amazing. I understand that that would be an insane task. But I also very much look forward to custom battles with all of these factions in Rome II. Good luck man!
