Dear RRA fans,

I believe the time has come for me to say a couple of words...

When I first started working on the mod, I had no idea it would turn out to be such a huge success, and I was enthousiastic when I saw it hit the top-3 on the Steam Workshop for a while. What started out as a plan to do some unit tweaks and add some realism to the game soon became much more, and I hope you had as much fun playing it as I had creating it (and learning stuff along the way). However, the last months modding Rome 2 became more and more boring and more and more of a burden, until I reached the point I really had to force myself to work on it. I looked for assistance and found it, but alas.... in the end, all the hard work still ended up with me. Ever since, I've been focussing on other (modding) projects and real life stuff like school and I kind of abandoned RRA. What really..... burdens me, though, is the fact I made promises (such as rebalancing the units) and set goals (finishing all reforms), but ultimately, partly due to lazyness didn't do it. Up to this very day, this makes me sad and feel bad. Hopefully, you will forgive me for this :)
So, what now? You might ask yourself now. First of all, I officially declare the mod open-source and free for anyone to edit, re-upload, molest and ♥♥♥♥ (though I'd appreciate my name in the credits). Also, if there is anyone willing to continue developing RRA, then I'd gladly provide any help required, because it would be a shame to leave so much work to gather dust in a corner for all eternity.

Sad? I am too, but remember this: In the end, all good things....

Yours sincerely,
Patricius Darwinius Virtus

I don't own Rome II (waiting for game breaking bugs to be removed) but I've seen a lot of mods, and this looks magnificent! Not many people I know of play games and know Roman history (I know I don't). This is simply amazing and from the screen shots, this looks professional. I'll track this mod. Well done sir.

No, definitely not the best game of the series, that still goes to Medieval 2.
Rome 2 has the shittiest combat animation as of the entire total war
