Q.What is Insurgency?
A. Insurgency ("INS") is a total conversion modification (multiplayer) for Half-Life 2, which runs on Valve's Source game engine.
Insurgency takes you across the modern battlefield, engaging in intense firefights and battles as a member of either a highly organized and equipped conventional force (US Marines), or as an unconventional fighter that uses a combination of firepower and bravery to take on their sometimes overwhelming opponent (Insurgents).
Intense realism will keep you alert as you and your team try accomplish the mission's objectives. Specified roles are included within each Squad that make up your team's Platoon. Command and control from a 4-soldier Fireteam, to an 8-soldier Squad, up to a 32-soldier Platoon. A unique point system ensures that online combat veterans will be rewarded for their leadership and tactical abilities so that they can rise through the ranks and command the platoon.
Grab one of the many weapons in the arsenal and join the fight using guerrilla tactics against the powerful enemy, fire RPGs at enemy infantry, or deploy your machine gun to take down entire platoons!
Q. Where can I download the mod?
A. Insurgency is available on Steam, Valve's online distribution system. If you already own a Source-based commercial game such as Half-Life 2 (or any of its episodes), Portal, Counter Strike: Source or Team Fortress 2 you will have Insurgency listed under your "My Games" list on your Steam client. You can install Insurgency from there and you the game will receive automatic updates as soon as they are available.
Q: Will Insurgency take advantage of HDR/Phong, etc?
A: Yes.
Q. How much will Insurgency cost?
A. It's free! You just need to have another Source-based videogame to be able to play.
Q. Where can I find more information about the mod?
A. Please visit Insmod.net for detailed information on all aspects of Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat.
Q. Where can I find support / other players?
A. Please visit our website at Insmod.net and our forums at Forums.insmod.net and be part of our active community! You can also visit the section dedicated to Insurgency at the Electronic Sports League site to find INS clans or other players.
Q. I would like to help, are you looking for anyone in particular?

Hello, folks!
During the last few days, Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat is enjoying a massive boost of players thanks to the release over Steam. This system also allows us to deploy some extra content and updates on a more regular basis and we would like to give you a small taste of what we are working on right now - this way you will know what is going to be added to the game in the near future.
First of all, and following the massive amounts of feedback received over the last months, a lot of our maps are being updated with fixes for small exploits or rough edges. The same goes for our main code base: a substantial patch is well under way and ready to be tested prior to committing the updates to the Steam version of Insurgency.
One of the new maps that are currently under development is Ins_Karam. Karam is a map set in Afghanistan. The Insurgents will be on the offensive against an ISAF camp. This is a great looking level, framed by pronounced ridges and hills, crossed by a dried-up river that provides cover and can conceal troop movements. There are also two villages protected by walls. The ISAF camp is located on a hill that overlooks one of the villages, and it's reinforced by concrete bunkers and ditches with sandbags. Ins_Karam, created by Bluestrike, has seen great progress over the last few months and it's getting ready to be tested and finally deployed to all of you so that you can enjoy it directly from the Steam version of Insurgency.

We would like also to mention the fact that the ESL Gather System now supports Insurgency. This is great news for players looking for something more than public server gameplay but that don't have a clan or a regular group of friends to play with:
The ESL Gather system is also supporting Insurgency now. You are able to find friends and like-minded people to play with. It is not focused on the competition but more on the fun and social part of gaming. It is a system with which you can find other players with whom you can play, no matter if you've got a team, no team or half a team. No matter if you are looking for a friendly match, a practice match, a 1on1 or a mixed team match.

You can check out all the information about the ESL Gather System system here. We would like to thank the ESL for their support of Insurgency and would also like to invite all of you to check out the Insurgency section of their website. You will find there information about the latest INS competitions and events, match results, and plenty of other interesting stuff!

Could be cool achievements like medals... don't?
ok i love your guys mod, but all te stupid noobs are ruining it. i mean i know you guys are aiming for realism, but I GET TKD MORE THAN THE ENEMY KILLS ME. i mean one round, my squad leader was literally looking for me. he shot me every round, EVERY ROUND! i walk into a room with an idiot with a shotgun, he sees me standing there, leaves, then when he re enters the room he unloads on me and i die. The is no way for these idiots to tell wether or not im an insurgent and no one wants to check to see if its ok to shoot they just wanna kill your ass and then type "O.... srry. LuL! xD!!!" FIX THAT!
Hi!
Could someone plz help me here a bit. When i try to join a sever, it only says, server is out of date, anyone know how to fix this??
Nice mod, just loaded it up again.. I have a friend who says the M-16 is glitched for him, and I am wondering if anyone else has this problem...
The Steam version of this mod simply don't work for me.
It crashes as soon as I pick what weapons I'm gunna use.
I can join a server, look around. But I can't mother fucking spawn.
BULLSHIT.
Coz there stupid developers, that don't care. Otherwise they would of replied to my damn error! Dude screw this mod, go play Zombie panic, it has a much better experience to offer :)
Well you only just added your comment, and even so most developers don't read the MODDB comments pages. Try posting your bug on their forum!!
PS Zombie Panic sucks.
If it takes them more then 2 days to read mine, then seriously they suck! Means they're not interested in fan feedback, Especially when it only just shipped on Steam, therefore even more crazy that they haven't seen mine.
I only play games/mods where the developers support it!
You're an idiot. Mod developers have to take precious time out of their life to create a free game for you to play. Maybe they'd rather be busy trying to fix bugs like yours than reading and responding to everything on their forums and Moddb? Give them more than 24 hours to respond next time and show some respect or stop playing mods you twerp.
this mod needs more not-in-the-bloody-middle-east maps!!!
