Q.What is Insurgency?
A. Insurgency ("INS") is a total conversion modification (multiplayer) for Half-Life 2, which runs on Valve's Source game engine.
Insurgency takes you across the modern battlefield, engaging in intense firefights and battles as a member of either a highly organized and equipped conventional force (US Marines), or as an unconventional fighter that uses a combination of firepower and bravery to take on their sometimes overwhelming opponent (Insurgents).
Intense realism will keep you alert as you and your team try accomplish the mission's objectives. Specified roles are included within each Squad that make up your team's Platoon. Command and control from a 4-soldier Fireteam, to an 8-soldier Squad, up to a 32-soldier Platoon. A unique point system ensures that online combat veterans will be rewarded for their leadership and tactical abilities so that they can rise through the ranks and command the platoon.
Grab one of the many weapons in the arsenal and join the fight using guerrilla tactics against the powerful enemy, fire RPGs at enemy infantry, or deploy your machine gun to take down entire platoons!
Q. Where can I download the mod?
A. Insurgency is available on Steam, Valve's online distribution system. If you already own a Source-based commercial game such as Half-Life 2 (or any of its episodes), Portal, Counter Strike: Source or Team Fortress 2 you will have Insurgency listed under your "My Games" list on your Steam client. You can install Insurgency from there and you the game will receive automatic updates as soon as they are available.
Q: Will Insurgency take advantage of HDR/Phong, etc?
A: Yes.
Q. How much will Insurgency cost?
A. It's free! You just need to have another Source-based video game to be able to play.
Q. Where can I find more information about the mod?
A. Please visit Insmod.org for detailed information on all aspects of Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat.
Q. Where can I find support / other players?
A. Please visit our website at Insmod.org and our forums at Forums.insmod.net and be part of our active community! You can also visit the section dedicated to Insurgency at the Electronic Sports League site to find INS clans or other players.
Q. I would like to help, are you looking for anyone in particular?
A. We are always looking for talented level designers, coders or artists. Please see the Help Wanted section of our Moddb for details! If you need to get in touch, send an e-mail to: mail@insmod.net

Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat is a very interesting modern military shooter. It's the only one I know of (Counter-Strike doesn't count) that's a mod. So put down them Calls of Duty and let's play it! 1PM PST, Sunday, June 19 2011.
"Insurgency (INS) is a total conversion based on Valve Software's Source Engine. Insurgency immerses you into an intense multiplayer combat experience. Set on the modern battlefields, Insurgency simulates modern infantry combat that doesn't just encourage the use of teamwork and tactics, but makes it a requirement of survival. The current Operational Theatre lets you go head to head with guerrillas, insurgents and resistance fighters in Iraq and Afghanistan; placing you in the center of current conflicts like no other first-person-shooter. Immersive suppresion fire and damage effects, 1-shot-1 kill dynamics, and accurate weaponry ensure a pace and a dramatic tension that few other games can match."

This Mod features a lot of great realism and custom made effects! I love it!
And the great modern warfare concept brings this game mod to the top of all HL2 mods! You cannot play this game for a minute, it simply is too fun, that you would not bother play it for a century!!
Cannot describe the whole map with words. You'll have to try it yourself!

shut the **** up this aint dead
in here you die after 1-2 shots not like in that bitchass mw2 and battlefield up to whole magazin to kill one what the ****
this is most realistic game and mod on earth
only real life is realer
Play ArmA, and you'll see that this game isn't all that realistic. I don't see the connection between realism and a mod being dead by the way.
lol such a n00b.
shut up kiddo go play with your puppets
(buried)
Mod is dead !
hm...
Whats the name of the song on the menus and stuff. Because its some great epic music ^_^.
I went back to play this yesterday because i miss it and i thought maybe i had been to harsh before, but within 5 minutes of playing i realised i hadnt been harsh enough.
The whole point of the game is to push or defend, but now there is no point in pushing because idiots can get more points by camping back and just trying to shoot people. there is absalutely no teamplay involved anymore.
So i was playing (i forget the name of the map, bit its the one where there is a road down the middle of the town with a mosque on the left) as americans and we had to push to cap the objectives. there was only a few people on the server and the round had been going for a while as i joined. Nobody had bothered to cap objective A yet, and there was no1 defending it so it could easily have been capped. I was sat at A for a good 10 minutes typing into the chat box for people to come and help me cap (as it needs 2 people). NOBODY CAME. They were all just camped at the end of the road spamming nades and trying to snipe.
And at the end of the round (which we obviously lost as we had not capped even one objective) all the people on my team were all typing good game, yes good game well played etc. because even though we lost, they had got lots of kills. ARE YOU F***ING SERIOUS?? GOOD GAME?
This mod only seems to attract the mentally retarded now, so i will steer well clear from now on until they fix it.
And as i can tell from all my steam friends who have been with the mod from the beginning, the feeling is pretty much the same with everyone who used to love this mod and supported it.
i agree with this.
I also agree... Earlier on this mod had a really good community and it was easy to find a server with people that wanted to actually act like a team. Oh well this game is more like CS source maybe Insurgency: Redeployment will have a better community for a time.
