Unofficial Expansion Pack Public Beta Installer
Aug 31, 2011 Full Version 0 commentsInstaller for the UEP Public Beta. Download and install to your Battlezone II directory. Made for BZ2 Public Beta 1.3.6.2
The BZ2 Unofficial Expansion Pack is a collection of many smaller works by the Battlezone Community. These include maps, recycler variants, skins, sounds, models, and more. By combining all of these into one package, not only is the end user's life made easier, but the modders feed off each other spiraling to larger and more grandiose additions. This pack will have numerous secondary releases to keep modding alive and fast paced. Already included are conversions of nearly all ZST maps from a previous version of Battlezone II and several brand new game modes. All members of the BZ2EP team respect the wishes and intellectual property of other modders, work included or not. All work is provided with consent and occasionally stringent requirements.

Please note that this is NOT the final version of this project, and is a pre-final release Public Beta. I will be releasing patches in the form of "Title Updates" over the course of this beta's life so the public can further test the changes we make and help to improve the final product. Please report any and all bugs you find no matter how small in this thread, so we can work to fix them. Included with this installer is a document of the major currently known bugs, which you can access by going into your newly created start menu shortcuts.
Local Mod Manager
Local Mod Manager is an application designed to allow users to easily install local-system mods. These may range from texture improvements for multiplayer to new HUD features. To browse and install the list of Local Mod's contained with this release, launch LMM from the finish page of the installer or double-click the 'Local Mod Manager' icon on your desktop. Local mods must be configured before you launch the game in order to take effect, and to not cause bad assets in MP.
Be sure to try out the ISDF/Scion teamcolors and new HUD layouts!

Did you launch from the proper shortcut on your desktop?
Ensure you install to the correct directory as well! It MUST install to your Battlezone II directory, with the latest patch.
Don't forget that 90% of the new content is multiplayer only :)
If you have any issues, drop by the forum :)

Hallo!
Im tracking your mod since several years now and Im very happy that finally it is out now. Among other things, the reason I have waited so patiently was a special feature: "Soon, there will also be a version with Pilot Recyclers, so you can pass stripped down versions of recs to youre teammates in MP, and build entirely different bases!"
(LINK ("Because you are a new member, you cannot include URLs until you are activly visiting the site and have been registered for 7 days."):

I tried above with your UEP, but Im not able to figure out how. I tried MPI wug pack and so on, but I was never able to transfer the recycler or a constructor to an ally... :(
In a few days my friends and me want to make a LAN and it would be astounding if this feature would work. Hope you can give me a helping hand.
Are you using the correct recycler variant? You want the TJ Variant with Thug Recyclers!
Hope that helps!
OMFG!
I just tried on and on and searched through the web after the meaning of 'Thug Recyclers' as this sounded glitchy to me ;)
Man! In fact so easy:
Choose a "MPI"-Map,
under "Map Options" on page 2 under "STARTING RECYCLER" set a Variant with Thug Recyclers, E.G. "The Jamsh MPI Variant - Thug Recyclers".
Start your sessions with friends!
While ingame you have to build a factory and choose "0 - Advanced" - "Thug Recycler". When finished building give it with CTRL + FX to an ally! Oh yay!!
And all those new posibilities with upgradable PowerPlants and so on...
Ok, and to not contravene against your words "Please report any and all bugs you find no matter how small in this thread, so we can work to fix them." This is my short "bug"-report:
1. Not enough people appreciate your marvelous work!
2. InGame, when I have selected an unit and give the command "HOLD" while the unit is moving, then the unit animation stopps immediately and it keeps straving in the direction it had I gave the command. Thats a bit annoying. Everytime I want a unit to hold, I have to w8 till it doesnt move anymore and first then the Hold-command works as it should work.
and at the end:
3. Remember the main reason which caused me to write here: In my opinion there has to be a detailed documentation which is currently completely missing.
With these word...
Thank you so much for this pack & keep up the genious work!
(Although I think you guys converge to a state which completely answers ones wishes to the game :) )
Hey, thanks for checking out the UEP, I'm glad you like it. Lots of people made contributions while myself and a few others pulled things together and made our own content to keep it fresh and new :)
I'm not around on BZ2 much at the moment and it might remain that way for a while. A couple of the bugs you posted are actually due to the game/dodgy AI, so not much I can do about those unfortunately :(
As for detailed documentation, I started but the amount of writing needed to explain it all was probably going to be more work than the pack itself :P Your best bet is to just experiment and toy with everything, a couple of the rec variants are a bit broken for one team but 99% of it works just fine.
Feel free to advertise it to your friends as well, there's plenty of video, screenshot and game footage to show it off with! The idea of the package was to bring members into the community, and provide fresh content for those who have been around for longer. It seemed to work if only a little!
