The BZ2 Unofficial Expansion Pack is a collection of many smaller works by the Battlezone Community. These include maps, recycler variants, skins, sounds, models, and more. By combining all of these into one package, not only is the end user's life made easier, but the modders feed off each other spiraling to larger and more grandiose additions. This pack will have numerous secondary releases to keep modding alive and fast paced. Already included are conversions of nearly all ZST maps from a previous version of Battlezone II and several brand new game modes. All members of the BZ2EP team respect the wishes and intellectual property of other modders, work included or not. All work is provided with consent and occasionally stringent requirements.

Pre-Release Public Beta v1.0

It is my pleasure to finally release a Public Beta version of the Unofficial Expansion Pack. I know many of you have been waiting patiently since it was first announced, and hopefully you'll find it all paid off!

You can download the installer from the following locations. Note that ONLY an installer is available at the moment, and it is NOT extractable with 7-zip in an "extract-over-root" format.
Run the installer as you would any other, read the license agreement and install.
(Note: The installer takes a few seconds to initialize properly and may appear to take a while before it begins, depending on your system specs).

DOWNLOAD NOW!
{Note: Links may take a while to become active, use BZScrap for best results}

Please note that this is NOT the final version of this project, and is a pre-final release Public Beta. I will be releasing patches in the form of "Title Updates" over the course of this beta's life so the public can further test the changes we make and help to improve the final product. Please report any and all bugs you find no matter how small in this thread, so we can work to fix them. Included with this installer is a document of the major currently known bugs, which you can access by going into your newly created start menu shortcuts.

Local Mod Manager
Local Mod Manager is an application designed to allow users to easily install local-system mods. These may range from texture improvements for multiplayer to new HUD features. To browse and install the list of Local Mod's contained with this release, launch LMM from the finish page of the installer or double-click the 'Local Mod Manager' icon on your desktop. Local mods must be configured before you launch the game in order to take effect, and to not cause bad assets in MP.

Be sure to try out the ISDF/Scion teamcolors and new HUD layouts!

Documentation Included:

  • License Agreement
  • Release Notes
  • List of major currently known bugs
  • Layout chart for TJ's Audio NewKeys (LMM Mod)
  • Manual for Dogfight MP Mode
I want to thank all those who at some point have contributed to the creation of the UEP, this wouldn't have been possible without a dedicated community to feed from! I hope it was worth the wait.

Downloaded this and got a virus alert for "win32:agent-atpg[trj]". Is this normal? Might need to remove this file from list or let owner know it may be hijacked.

It came up clean for me scanning it with Avira. Probably just a false-positive, Guest.

Hey been having problems upgrading buildings in main campaign, any chance that could be looked at, makes it very difficult to play as scion. Thanks to anyone that helps.

We didn't make any changes to the campaign assets I believe, so that's probably a stock issue. Campaign has been slowly getting worse as the 1.3 patches come out, because changes to MP seem to break it.

For best results, just play the campaign in the 1.2 patch :)

I'm afraid I am no longer a very active member of the BZ2 community, been far too busy with my degree and I am currently working for TopHat Game Studios Ltd. on 'The Somme', which is a tough job!

There are many guys capable of doing a port if one is required, and if they are reading this, feel free to do so. Unfortunately this projects release did spark some controversy, so I'm not sure how willing they are to do so. It's very full-filling to know that people are still playing this mod though :)

With any luck I'll have time to come back for a spell in the future, until then see if you can find the cause or solution to the problem on the forums :)

Wish someone would wing it and make Battlezone 3 having all the teams from the different mods and such. Just Imagine, Cerberi verses Phaer Rhan
