Also following up on this, I don’t think the tech research rate would be an issue. As the whole point of a 1910 start date is and alt history “what if?” If a major war did break out before 1914, whos to say that the technological advances wouldn’t have happened earlier? As the tech developed as the combatants learned about how modern war was actually fought. If the war broke out in 1910, I think it’s very likely tanks could have been developed by 1914!

Awesome stuff! really digging the new update. I really enjoy the new aim down sights and bolt action animations!

One thing though, you think you could add back the crosshairs for the artillery? I noticed these were missing, and I think they should be put back, at least until y'all maybe add realistic gun sights to the artillery!

Really food work, hopefully we will see another 1918 campaign soon, playing in the last CMP 1918 campaign, and it was blast. Would love to see a new one focused on the eastern front early war!

For 1910, you could greatly increase the turns required to research the first tier of tech. Maybe x4 research time to get to trench warfare? Something like that could work

Have y’all considered adding the option for an earlier start date? I think 1910 would be a good alternate start date option. Especially for players wanting a more sandbox campaign. It would be nice to start the campaign not immediately at war and have time to build up to it (or launch it earlier). I think the startpos are fine and don’t need to be edited, I think just making everyone start at peace and maybe rolling back the starting researched tech a bit would be needed.

3 modes would be nice:

Alt history (1910): allied and central powers start with their respective alliances. AI can declare war whenever and no other diplomatic scripting restrictions (ai not forced to stick with starting alliance) AI can make and break alliances as normal.

Sandbox (1910): no starting alliances and everyone is at peace. No diplomatic scripts or restrictions

1914: current campaign start with scripts

Somethings I’d like to see changed in this mod (tried to do these myself but couldn’t quite get it to work):

Change the VC machinegunner to have the DP28 instead of RPK

Could also maybe change the VC medic to use the MP40 instead of PPsh

Change the French machine gunner to use the Bren from Secret Weapons instead of type 99

Create a new kit set for early war ARVN where they are equipped with mostly WW2 era guns (BAR, Thompson, M1 Garand, Bazooka). Change the headgear from the red beret to the M1 Helmet.

All these assets are already in vanilla 1942 with expansions, and these changes would make for some good weapon variety

Well, I found out the Dagestan protectorate bug is not limited to Dagestan. I edited the start pos file to remove Dagestan, as some people have suggested, but now it is the Knights of St John that are accumulating protectorates lol. I’m not that far into my game, and they already have Prussia and Wurtemberg as protectorates. It seems to me that what ever minor nation that is at the end of the turn order (excluding pirates and Barbary states) will start racking up protectorates.

I think some sort of script or code that limits the AI to only use the “Become Protectorate” diplomacy option with nations that they share a border with would fix this. I am not familiar with scripting in ETW, but if any modders see this, I would like to know if this could be done and if this would fix it! Thanks!

Great! I agree with you completely. Dates swould def be added to the front of the map names. I also agree with you on the theatres, I noticed some of the maps have the flags of their sides in the map images, and that pretty much takes care of theatre recognition(would like to see this on all the old maps as well as me new ones at some point) Looking forward to the next update!

Hey guys, great mod! It is THE best ww1 sambox fps out there! I have one small suggestion/request for y’all:

- do you think you could add the year and month of the battles to the map names? Similar to Battlegroup, like YYMM Map Name. So like for the Battle of Mons the new map name would be “1408 - Battle of the Mons”

This would help or organize the maps by the historical date, and make it more convenient for players to create historical themes game lists quickly in the the create games section.

The date is the most important part, but you could go the extra step and denote the theatre of battle as well. For example, WF=western front, EF=eastern front, etc. this is not as important, but would also be a good aid.

Love the new update. My only gripe is it feels like the ammo count for the riflemen is like half of what it should be. I feel like they run out of ammo so fast. Is there a way I could just edit the ammo stats?

Just one to say great mod! One of THE BEST 1942 mods out there. Should go standalone if possible. I'm not sure if the mod is still being updated but I have some minor suggestions for the next update:

- DP 1928: The VC machine gunner could use this instead of the RPD! Would be historically accurate and it's always great to see more guns. Plus you could just use the weapon is already in the base game so i doubt it would take too much effort to addin

- French: I love how they're included in this mod. I'd like to see more maps about the Indochina War. Also you should replace the french machine gunners weapon with either the BAR or the Bren. You'll be more accurate and the weapons are already in the bad game so should be a quick fix. Also maybe giving the riflemen the No4 and giving the medic the Thompson would also be nice.

I'd like to know what the other people's thoughts on the suggestions! And devs show me a sign if your still working on this! Keep up the good work

I think aussies would fit in perfect with the theme of this mod, plus you already have most of the vehicles, just need to retex us vehicles, and for infantry just retex the us and give them australian weapons!

I think that the machine guns should not be hidden when they fire or move, this makes the MGs extremely op, as in order to see them, i have to sacrifice about 5 units to run up close enough to spot them. Also, bunkers need to not have a 360 degree firing arc, as this makes it impossible to take out with any infantry what so ever. Another thing, field guns such as the krupp gun and the 75mm need to be fixed, they should fire more like the howitzers.

Grenades should be nerfed. Every battle so far i've played i get sniped by a grenade from about 500 meters

Hey, I would recommend switching the place of the rifleman kit with the sniper kit. That way it would be more realistic with bots actually playing as riflemen!

Hey, it seems like there is no way to detect infiltrated units, even my special characters can't. How are you supposed to detect them? Its come to the point in several battles were the last enemy units are infiltrated chaos cultists that sit there and kill my guys while I cant do anything about it.

Once again I am having problems with the BSAreg tool. I run it and it says "All BSA archives are already properly registered" even though I have not previously updated the BSA archives. I've tried running it as administrator, and I've uninstalled and re-installed Morrowind(I have steam version) I am running 64 bit Vista. Please help!
