Goddamn this game is hard on medium difficulty. Flashlight keeps running out so I can't see ****. So as I move around there is 100% chance a zombie will appear but I can't see **** to do much about it. Also I ran out of ammo on the 6th zombie in the hospital. But the game thought it was funny to throw 5 at a time at me. With just the kitchen knife... Not cool because it takes over 10 hits to kill a zombie with the kitchen knife. How the hell do I get through that part without dying? I mean seriously. FIVE zombies vs me with 1 kitchen knife.

So yea the difficulty is a bit of a problem. Until you get to the point where you get your shotgun. Then it's fine. You still tend to run out, but that's after you killed the zombies. But then those antlion like things start showing up. Always with at least 4 at a time. And those things take 4 shotgun shots. Not cool. Especially at that part with the back alley when you get out of the subway station. 1 of that dude. Take it down, suddenly wall breaks 4 of them come out. You kill those move on and again 2 of them. In close quarters. I got ****** so many times there.

Other than that the gameplay is fine. I like the details of random appearing faces in streams of light coming from windows or from other random places. But the general atmosphere really resembles Doom 3. The scariness generally depends on the inability to see. However after dying a couple of times in a row at the same place... It tends to bore me and yet frustrate me.

My aiming skills etc are fine. It's just that darkness combined with low ammo and scare moments result in mishaps that are fatal. Many times at the same spot. Oh to get back at the subway station. Inside it you have to fight off at least 15 zombies all at once. ******* impossible. I used godmode on that part because I died so many times trying to cap their *****.

Conclusion - Difficulty is ****** up. Apart from that the gameplay is good.

The custom models and everything look amazing even though its on alpha status.
The mapping is good and the story is interesting with the whole guide over the walky talky stuff. The weapons are interesting. But a problem with the scope on the smg. The problem is that the scope seems to only fit on larger resolution because its off screen at 758 x 468 (or something).
Meaning its hardly dynamic. Try to make the scope dynamic so that it works for every screen resolution.
At the end of the alpha where you get teleported fear style is fun.

It's slow and there are no clues to where the you have to go. Doors don't look like doors at times so you're just stuck trying to find the door while it looks like a ******* wall. And the sounds suck. Also it's trial and error a lot of the times and in the end it doesn't amuse me.

The mapping is supposed to lead whereas in SM its just the map and you can go everywhere and you need to be in one little place. Making it look like a jungle and you need to find that one square meter in that jungle.

The sniper rifle also makes no sense. At all. It shoots crossbow bolts and it still has that sound! Also it's left handed while all the other weapons are right handed! On the topic of the weapons, I think you guys just took some cs reskins and pasted them in the folder because some weapons have different sounds and others don't.

Event handling is also average in this game. In the propaganda mission I heard a citizen yelling me (apparently) while I was recharging my suit. I had no idea where he was and then I heard an explosion. Apparently something happened and a lot of combines were spawning. That trigger was in the wrong place. What could've been a nice panic event became a fail by wrong trigger placement.

The music was nice but that's the only thing. Also it never stops. Music is supposed to add up to the atmosphere like Valve did in HL2. Whereas in SM it's just a playlist playing all the time.

The gameplay is also very repetitive. Run in room kill all combines before you can move on and then you go in other room kill again all of the combines before you can move on.
In the beginning was a nice little thinking game with the turrets when you only had your hook. That was nice but then it became all repetitive combat.

This mod is FAR from completed and the way I see it, this mod is in alpha status. 5/10

This mod is awesome. But it has a lot of flaws regarding the hitboxes and zombies that need to be nerfed. Drifters attack effect needs to be nerfed. If you're surrounded you can't go anywhere and you're dead. Even by 1 drifter because you can't kill it if its hitting you.

Also the hitboxes I mentioned before. Someone needs to fix those. Really, you can only kill banshees if they're following you and you're walking away in a straight line. There is almost no way you can kill them if they're moving except for that way.

Other than that good game.
