Far Cry is definitely a great game. I can say that its a real masterpiece of Crytek which has everything - the best ever seen graphics by that time, interesting and challenging gameplay, and of course its story. You feel yourself like in a tropical paradise which hides something terrible inside. The game is quite long in compare with other FPS games, and it consists of 20 Single player levels and 8 multiplayer maps. I remember getting this game when it was new and I hated it. Started playing it again this week and it's actually worse. The graphics are bad, the voice acting is bad, the story is bad, the gunplay is bad, the AI is bad, the level design is bad, the enemy design is bad, the loading times are bad -- yes, 9 years on! -- and everything else about this game is just bad.
I'm compelled to push through it just to say I did, but thank Christ FC2 and 3 aren't story sequels.
2nd best xbox game next to Doom 3.

I just bought this game not expecting much, but it is absolutely amazing, funnest time I've ever had in a single player fps game, i can't wait for far cry 3. :D
Fun game, but they made the same mistake as with crysis. As soon as the mutants (in crysis aliens) come, it gets shittier.

Bought it when it was released. It hasn't been installed for seven years. I remember it being great, no complaints but I just can't find a reason to play it. Just browsing for mods for games I have.
