About Wind of Luck with

Hi people,
it was a pretty hard month and we are still fighting for success with Wind of Luck project.
Recently, we held a meeting with our may-be funding source, had some good promises, hard time and a complete change in marketing strategy.
After counting our resources and studying the market situation, we agreed that we will release WoL "in two steps".
First, we will finish "battle part" and release free-to-play MMO "Wind of Luck: Arena", where players can fight Team vs Team (something like 5v5, 7v7, 12v12) in several "arenas".
In 6-8 months past release of WoL: Arena, with new funding source, we plan to hire additional staff and finish main WoL project (with name of something like "WoL:Pirates").
As for WoL:Arena - Ships will be partially upgradeable, with equipment and crew, and there will be some progression from smallest boats to 1-rate ships. players will earn fame and money in each battle and spend it to research and buy new ships, cannons and equipment. I.e. in "Asian" tree there will be like 9 tiers of ships starting from Hokulea and finishing in some really huge vessels like legendary Treasure Ship of Zheng He fleet.
Yes, it means that we will need to completely rebalance ships for WoL: Arena but it seems like the only way to make the game finally live.
That's the news.
great engine :)
Yup.
How much does this cost to license? Not to be rude or anything, but I am a little curious, as people keep saying it is a really good price.
Prices have gone up in line with new engine features, so check their website for the current price.
the engine is great u have a choice of 3 versions to buy cheapest is like 100 dollars but its only if its a hobby then its 250 dollars if u want to sell the game and 400 if u want everything including the source code i deffinitly highly recomend you this engine i bought it and i love it :)
A Basic license without source code is only $100. This would give you tools and examples equivalent to what you get with UDK. But you cannot sell a product you make.
The standard license includes source code along with the tools, you can sell your product for whatever price you want, so long as you dont receive more than $100,000 in funding from a publisher. I personally have a standard license. It's well worth the money.

if for example you buy the cheapest bundle and you produce a game with it and then later you decide you really like it and buy a bundle thats more expensive can you sell the game then?
we compared several engines and it seams like this engine has the best price/performance ratio, full source code in the standard-edition, a impressive community, fast support in the forums and a comprehensive wiki. but there are some cons (but this is just our point of view!!!): no deferred rendering, no SSAO-support for now (and afaik there no support planed) which is pretty sad, because it adds a lot of atmosphere to indoor envs.
nevertheless we´re think about licensing the engine.
C4 has support for AO not SSAO nor any other real time version (for now) but you can use precomputed AO zones in the editor and even use AO maps from any external 3d tool.
Yah i just finished and released my first title "Bounce!" it was great working with the engine.
