The Raycasting Game Maker is a free easy to use game editor that creates simple raycasting games in the style of Wolf3D. The finished game needs only two files to run, an executable and a pak file with the game data. The game runs in Windowed- or Fullscreen Mode and supports 16 and 32 bit color.

I don't know who the makers of RGM are, I'm just adding it to ModDB as I made a game using it.

About Raycasting Game Maker with 2 comments by cork279 on Mar 27th, 2012

Hello, I'm writing this just to inform everyone on updates, and where you can get support for the engine.

SUPPORT FORUMS

Recently, the developer of RGM locked it's forum, because understandably he was too busy to keep check of it. So, this can't be used for asking questions or resolving problems. You can still check it though, your problem may already be resolved. There's also pretty much no contact details for him, so you can't ask him directly.

I made a website/forum (EDIT: I no longer look there, so it's dead) ; at first it's use was going to be for posting RGM games, but it also has an alternate support forum you can use and I'll try to help anyone I can.  By the way, you can also post your own RGM games (and also 'news' posts at this website).

TUTORIALS

Smallcombe made a tutorial for modding his RGM game Rage Frenzy. I will be changing this tutorial to suit RGM in general, and adding stuff to help anyone new to RGM (it's quite an easy engine anyway, but tutorials would help). Smallcombe's tutorial is already very useful as it is, and I'd recommend it if you're new to RGM.

LATER VERSIONS OF RGM

The developer of RGM has said he'll keep updating RGM, new versions will still be posted on his website. I'll be posting them here too.  I don't know what will  be happening with the Jage3D engine however.

Thanks,
Cork279 (I didn't make RGM, I'm just trying to help ;P )

Make sure you're not using your mouse buttons to open doors. If you are, the Next Level doors won't work.

This is really fun to experiment with. Too bad there's no way to implement scripts, or anything like that as far as I can see.

I don't think the source code for this is available. You'd have to ask the dev, and he left no contact details :P

(I don't know about any other similar engines)
