A Star Wars/Dark Forces themed mod for GZDoom. It replaces Doom's weapons, enemies and (almost all) decoration objects. The mod takes elements from both Star Wars cannon and legends. Most projectiles are 3d models of Star Wars blaster effects. Gameplay is changed quite a lot, hitscan attacks are rare and most projectiles typically move much faster than those in Doom. Infighting is also rare and only happens between imperials, aliens and bounty hunters (they won't attack their own team). The Icon of Sin is also replaced with a more traditional boss enemy, Emperor Palpatine! You can also unlock force powers by finding lightsabers. You can get up to seven powers, including being able to throw your lightsaber. Force powers use force energy which slowly regenerate or can be charged up faster at the cost of movement speed. The mod uses built in ZDoom controls for inventory items and force powers. There are new names for the user key functions for the force powers.

Xim,

I just left you a well-earned glowing review!

A few suggestions...

I'll start with the one that's likely to produce the biggest headache: lightsaber combat. Is there any way to engineer something that feels more like dueling? Where swings are being exchanged, parries occur, and lightsaber lockups are possible? Being able to kick would be a bonus as well.

My suggestion is to make it more movie like. And for myself, the mod that I've seen do that the best is for the Jedi Academy series: the SerenityJediEngine. It's a STAMINA based system. Duelers WALK as they do in the films, and it's also a ONE-HIT-KILL system. If the opponent "hits" the player, the player does a dodge provided that he STILL HAS STAMINA LEFT to execute the dodge. If not, a limb is lopped off and the duel is over. Most duels last 5 minutes or more.

Again, I realize that what's being asked for is a lot. I just bring it up in case it's possible.

For more immediate needs, the Saber Throw is too powerful against other FORCE USERS. Keep it as it is with normal creatures, but it's far too easy to kill the Force Users with Saber Throw. Could you enable a feature where it's possible that a Force User could CATCH one's lightsaber? He could either store it on his person (one would have to use Force Pull to try and get it back) or he use it against the player. The higher the level of the Force User, the easier it would be for them to catch one's lightsaber, the harder it would be to Force Pull it off of the enemy's belt, etc.

It'd be nice if more Force Users were encountered, preferably in a randomized fashion (one wouldn't always encounter a Force User in the same room).

Keep up the GREAT work. I love what you're doing Xim, and I am VERY grateful for it.

Wookie Bowcaster doesn't have charging sound when you hold primary fire right after shot.

Why stouker gun is like BFG again? It just makes it too powerful. Comparing primary fire to alt fire. Alt fire is a lot weaker, but eats 20 ammo too.

If you use force pull on mines. Mines will fly through walls

Conc-rifle is considered BFG tier weapon now. The fusion cutter is now plasma-gun tier. I will adjust the weapon a bit in the next release, alt-fire will use less ammo.

-New enemy: Incinerator trooper, first featured in the game "Force Unleashed" before being introduced to offical SW cannon. They are armed with flamethrowers and spawn rarely with the Hellknights
-New "secret" weapon: Rebel Trooper A280 Blaster Rifle, stronger and more accuarate than the Stormtrooper rifle, but has a slower rate of fire. Alt-fire does a burst-attack. They can only be obtained if they are dropped by a Rebel Captain spawned by the Hyperspace Transponder (or Summon AssaultBlaster in console)
-SNIPER TAPPING : Bryar pistol, e-11 blaster rifle and imperial repeater have perfect accuracy on their first shot much like Doom's pistol and chaingun
-Fusion cutter and Goob gun are more powerful and accurate, they also now use plasma cells for ammo. Fusion cutter now spawns with the the Plasmarifle along with the Oppressor flamethrower
-Concussion rifle is overall more powerful, it now has a railgun alt-fire similar to Dark Forces 2. It now spawns with the BFG9000 along with the Dark Trooper cannon
-Replaced Z-6 Rotary blaster sprite from the Doom '16 edit. Now it has a sprite edited from a screengrab of the Z-6 from Battlefront II '05, featuring a shoulder mount animation for (de)selecting
-Z-6 Rotary blaster is a bit more accurate
-Dark Trooper Assault Cannon now has a shoulder mount animation for (de)selecting
-Hyperspace Transponder can now summon light side jedi, armed with a blue, green or yellow lightsaber and behave similar to the dark jedi, minus the force lightning
-Imperial Generals have a rare chance to drop a Hyperspace Transponder on defeat
-Imperial Admirals have a rare chance to drop a Heavy Support Beacon on defeat
-Ion barrels now have brightmaps
-Minor updates for the Jabba's Palace, Darkest Hour and Doomed Space Wars compat patches

How do you spawn rebel soldiers? Because summon Rebel command doesn't work at all

Try RebelTrooper, "Rebel" is an actor that already exists in Strife (another ZDoom supported game, which this mod isn't compatible with right now). You can also summon RebelCaptain and Luke.

You can also obtain the Transponder item in the game to summon them without cheating (except Luke). There is also the SupportBeacon to summon rebel vehicles.
