Tiberium Dusk is a re-imagining of the Kane's Wrath universe in a way I feel better fits canon, as EA did a pretty poor job with the C&C franchise continuity from Tiberium Wars onwards. This mod doesn't change anything with regards to the story but helps add elements to the gameplay that "fill the gaps" and provide a more Tiberian Sun esque experience (including all its flaws and unbalances) and departs away from the Kane's Wrath RTS formula. Still a work in progress, I've made changes to the AI (buffed turtle AI and made brutals harder), made changes to "Militant Squads" which make them work with the timeline of the franchise, changed the "Nod" faction entirely with a new name, as Kane's Wrath "Nod" works more of a splinter faction rather than a true "Brotherhood"; with Marked of Kane being the new face of the faction. There are also numerous changes to GDI and Scrin, especially Reaper 17 and Steel Talons, which make them play significantly differently.

Intro

Hey there! Welcome to this week's roundup of the YouTube, where we covered two expansion mods going back to classics and a surrealist adventure indie!

Monday - Playthrough - Tiberium Dusk

C&C3, considered by some to be the last good entry in the mainline series, made a splash in modding, and today, remains a favourite - so it was for the creator of Tiberium Dusk, a total overhaul that includes music, units, and systems inherited from earlier C&C games to bring the old back into the new and push forwards a new legacy for this classic RTS series.

Wednesday - Short - The Mensional

The Mensional is a puzzle-platformer adventure game where the lead character finds a time machine, transporting them into an unfamiliar realm of time distortions outside of their control. The only way out is to restart the machine and commence once more the normal flow of time.

Friday - Playthrough - Dawn of War II: Eternal

In the wake of an unsuccessful Dawn of War III, fans revisited the first and second games of the series instead with modding to try and make the revival they wanted. Dawn of War II Eternal hopes to marry the joint influences of its predecessor and Dawn of War II's inspirations, complete with faction overhauls and new subfactions that create a new way to wage war.

That's all for this round-up. Here I wanted to leave a small note as this will be the last editorial I've written (in order, there's another one coming out later this week) for DBolical. I'm going on to an exciting new role, but working for ModDB & IndieDB with the talented creator community has been immensely rewarding as a modder myself. The modding won't stop, and neither will my time here in this awesome community, but I'll be stepping down as a shepherd, and instead, becoming a participant once more. Thanks for the last two years and I wish everyone the best of luck with their projects!
