This total transformation mod (not following Fallout lore) aims to bring to life anarchist utopias after Global meltdown. It takes place in eastern part of former Canada and United-States. The game is a bilingual (french & english) single player non-linear RPG. It can be called a radical camping simulator or a positive post-apocalyptic game. The world has been challenged by the Sum of all heavily anticipated catastrophies. Humans survived and organised themselves according to a mix of anarchistic, aboriginal, technological and nomadic ways of living, mostly driven by anarchist ideas (anti-domination, direct democracy, freedom and autonomy). In-game, "Sum" refers to the sum of all catastrophies, the name, a new currency and mispellings of words "son" and "sun". The Sum (french version : Nous Aurons) is an art project created by the french canadian artist Hugo Nadeau (www.hugonadeau.com).

Hud stay this way or you make new one.
This one is little ridiculous and kill the immersion to me.
And thx for the exe fixing it was detected as virus by kaskersky before.
Last time when i go for mod i it was with miner inside so i prefer to be cautious.

I still want to keep a minimalistic/pale interface, immitation of a Web browser, but I received many comments on it and will try something new with a little more texture... I am thinking about a mix of ipad-like gadgets (one for each interface screen) with broken glass and dirt stains. Means that the "immersion idea" of the Interface (the GPSP) will consider that the player character uses a group of different devices held in his/her hand to manage stuff and maps, rather than augmented reality glasses like now, which is not well understood. Also, full color portraits will really help (thanks to Melindil) as green tint portraits on that interface just don't make sense at all.

Do some rusty border to cut hud from playing area.
And texture it instead of grey and white.
Pitboy was ipad like or go for something like other sci fy devices.
But keep the heavy rusty color theme similar to the whole game.
And emoyes looks odd, maybe put some old "war" pictures do some "war" theme poster or put girl pin ups.

I unfortunately have a far less "war" approach than excellent mods like Enclave for example (that already worked on that a lot - So I want here to offer something different, a immersion into the life of an ordinary person), therefore I am more commited to a "civilian" approach here (which is a lot more connected to my game's lore) That explains I think the use of emojies instead of war posters or pin ups (who would be in my idea a bit too much of a non-feminist perspective for my intents).

I'm now back to work on The Sum! I still have the goal to come out with a new version by the end of the summer, and this one will have full colour portraits! A HUGE thanks to Melindil for that hack made following my suggestion. A really splendid work he did.

Great work, i was looking for such a mod. Only now many cities are not playable becouse everyone is attacking for no apparent reason, its probably critters like dogs that start a fight.

Another thing: will it be possible to make traders restock every few days or weeks?

Oh thanks for the comments! You are right that the AI of villagers is a bit too sensitive to treats... often random ones too, I'll check it carefully before releasing the next version, it is good that you mention it. There also still might be some entities, like animals, with the wrong (ennemy) team there... Also, sometimes you get attacked because you have a weapon in hand too, that may happen, check that and make sure you don't walk around with your knife and/or gun.

As for the traders, I doupt it is possible I'm sorry, as it would require a lot a programming, and the engine is very buggy when it comes to transfer items from one inventory to another. First, if the same item tagname is present somewhere, the item is not transfered at all, and second, items can only be transfered from NPC to player, and player to NPC, and the player and NPC must be close one to the other. Just saying that it is hell of a job to transfer objects, and even more job to make sure it actually work... I will think about something though to create some diversity, like adding nomadic traders maybe, or switching from one trader to another if the player has reached a high level...

Thanks for the fast answer!

As it comes to traders, what i mean is to have some steady supply of resources and ammunition, thats why i like your idea of nomadic traders. If they spawn in random encounters with the same inventory all the time then you could always buy some more ammo for your favourite gun, without fear that in prolonged games you will buy out all the ammunition of one type from all the traders in the world:)

Oh yess, of course, it totally make sense. I'll work on that today. I just revamped the random encounters yesterday also to add some diversity and do like in Fallout 2, mean that some random follow the reputation you have with some locations (like slaverd being friendly if you joined them in their den for example). Concerning nomadic traders, it will defenitely work for bullets, clean water, prepared food and drugs, but not for guns and useful items like knives. It's because quest/useful items loose their tagnames on random guys for some reason and then can't be used in a certain way. No problem, as it creates more challenge and it make sense that nomadic traders just sell the minimum/essential gear to survive now. And I also added some basic crafting tool that will always give you very basic items like shiv knife if you don't have them or lost them (if you have enough search and repair skills of course).
