We have nothing to give you but your own freedom. [...]
If it is the future you seek, then I tell you that you must come to it with empty hands. You must come to it alone, and naked, as the child comes into the world, into his future, without any past, without any property, wholly
dependent on other people for his life.
You cannot take what you have not
given, and you must give yourself. You
cannot buy the Revolution. You cannot
make the Revolution. You can only be
the Revolution. It is in your spirit, or it
is nowhere.

- Ursula K. Le Guin, The Dispossessed

This total transformation mod (not following Fallout lore) aims to bring to life anarchist utopias after Global meltdown. It takes place in eastern part of former Canada and United-States. The game is a bilingual (french & english) single player non-linear RPG. It can be called a radical camping simulator or a positive post-apocalyptic game. The world has been challenged by the Sum of all heavily anticipated catastrophies. Humans survived and organised themselves according to a mix of anarchistic, aboriginal, technological and nomadic ways of living, mostly driven by anarchist ideas (anti-domination, direct democracy, freedom and autonomy). In-game, "Sum" refers to the sum of all catastrophies, a cult, a currency and mispellings of words "son" and "sun". The Sum (french version : Nous Aurons) is an art project created by the french-canadian artist Hugo Nadeau (www.hugonadeau.com).

I never liked FO:Tactics, it was too linear, you couldn't explore like in FO1&2, but this mod looks very promising. I like your idea of turning the game into a surviving simulator. Keep up the great work. Tracked :)

Thanks you a lot! Regarding Tactics, of course the game originally don't have as much non-linear possibilities as FO1 & 2, but have some non-linear potentials that I will try to explore, like the possibility of hundreds of different ending and ending texts based on the character choices, and also dialogues based mostly on the attributes of the main character. If you have too low intelligence or too low speech skill, your character will probably get a fight with somebody, if you like it or not! I want also to add dialogues based on a choice made when doing a quest, lets say a quest like this one "Kill George, make George go or tell him he is in danger". The game will then be less linear, but without simply giving dialogues choices to the player and letting him ruin the personality of his own character...

Here is my dead tactcis mod. It contains some maps made by me and from community. Most stuff from Fo1 and 2 recreated in tactics.( far as i can tell i converted almost everthing item wise and descriptions)
My most notable map is shamble town.

It also contains a spider and dinosaur entity. credits listed on my mod page.

Feel free to use any of it.

I think I don't have the "Town of Shelter". Do you still have that .mis file? That could be great to use it!

Oh! You are the creator of The Wastes! Very very great. I am HAPPY to hear that! That is something. I must say the maps there are my very favorites. Very well done, sometime complicated dumpster-style maps, filled with crap and hidden houses. I you make some more, I MUST know!! I will be interested to get them! I will of course include them, most must already be in place somewhere, and I remember using the gaz station, the first map in your demo, as my first map to test all the triggers and learn from them!!

Cool man, once i had built a number shack dwellings, then i just copy pasted parts, to make new structures.

Town of shelter map is made from the junk dwellings of shamble town. I made a basic speech tree too, 4 responses posiible, its not peferct, but functions. Its kinda like open fallout mod speech tree, just more basic. Once i can get int my old hard drive, ill see if shelter map is on it.

Thanks for comment on my maps.i try to make it look natural.

Yeah, copy/paste things is totally necessary to make maps! When I started playing with clips in the editor, that really helped me work my way with maps, and create more unity in my mod (like putting the same kind of road in a lot of places, using the same destroyed parking lot, etc) Oh, please contact me yess if you do find Shelter map, I'll be pleased to make it fit somewhere! I looked again in the Wastes mod and didn't find it.

Was it just a Txt file you edited to change skill names?
To make them appear in skills list on char sheet in game.

As for perks, have you created any, that apply effects? and work?

I clould never figure these things out.

Yess! Most skills, perks, char screen (and so many other) changes are possible in CORE/LOCALE/GAME folder. That is also where you can translate almost all the game. I could not change ANY perks effects..., but I created a perk using "Brown noser" perk slot that do nothing in my mod (because I do not use it and don't display rank). So in my mod, when you have the brown noser perk, you will receive an automatic notice when there is a great danger in the zone (radiation, air pollution, etc.). Also, some perks are broken in Tactics, like "Bonsai" perk. So I changed the Bonsai perk and made it work again with triggers. As you can detect the perks the player have at any time using trigger, you can use any of the broken perks to create your own effects with triggers. Hard work, but fun!
