Some big and little releases in the second half of November 2020 and otherwise one can see that the modding activity went a bit down in total. Have a nice read!
Released or updated mods and addons
We can congratulate the developers of the modding project LotR: Realms in Exile for Crusader Kings III to their first release! The first version of the mod concentrates on the region of Rohan and enables you to play as King Théoden of Rohan, Saruman the White or Wulfgar Brynjarsson of Dunland. Have a more detailed read about what for features to expect at this article here.
Also, a bit a surprise, the version 6.0 of Age of the Ring for Battle for Middle-earth II: Rise of the Witch King has been released, featuring the new Woodland Realm faction, an Erebor 2.0, an A.I. Overhaul and some more stuff about which you can read a bit more here.
Coming to the little releases, the developers of the Edain Mod released the patch 4.5.4.2 for the demo of Edain version 4.0. It brings a couple of bug fixes, a reworked defensive spell for Lorien and a reworked Erestor. They also give some news about the currently ongoing Edain Ranked Open Cup 2020 and the upcoming faction of the Misty Mountains. Read more here.
And the modding project Wars of the North got a little early release update, including beneath other things new models for Arnor Structures and an Arvedui on horse skin.
Activity at modding
Since we are already at the BfME game series we can stay there for a moment longer. At the RR_Mod bilbothehobbit showed off some new units and spells.
Then two little addons have been uploaded, one by NumenoreanTalion, a bfme texture pack which currently contains two Numenorean Soldiers. And a new campaign map, uploaded by King-Arveleg.
Coming to the Total War Series, starting with Rome: Total War and here with Total War: Wainriders. Two new faction preview articles have been written, one about the Avari and one about the Éothéod. Plenty to read and see ^^
At the modding project Heirs of Elendil for Medieval II: Total War: Kingdoms the ranks of the Orocarni are slowly getting filled up. Some Nazgul agents have also been unleashed.
Heavy Axemen of Dunlan also made their appearance at Castellan's Visual Enhancemets & Overhaul for Divide And Conquer.
At the modding project Last Alliance: Total War for Total War: Shogun 2 the campaign map slowly evolves and new units have also been created.
Maeron_ also created some nice new design concepts for the Woodland Realm, for the mod Total War: Rise of Mordor for Total War: Attila.
At the modding community of Mount & Blade: Warband and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord it's pretty silent. A new ingame screenshot at Persistent Lord of the Rings and a little development blog at Silmarillion which you can read up here.
William_772_YT started a little project with LOTR Weapon and Armour Designs in which he draws design concepts which can get used at every mod. For now there is a bunch of simple ones given.
And MikeTheEmperor posted a little article about the recent progress at the development of The Ring Roleplay Project - TRRP, the Central Hills. Have a short read for it here.
That's it for the second half of November 2020. I hope it was a nice and informative overview for you about the happenings in the Tolkien Modding Community! Have a nice first Advent!
As always, should I have forgotten to show off the recent progress of some of your favourite mod teams, don't forget to comment about them. They will be mentioned then in the next news article. Feel also free to join the Tolkien Modding Community Discordapp.com
