What is Warcraft III : World of Warcraft(Wc3:WoW)?
=========================================
Warcraft III : World of Warcraft(Wc3:WoW) is a new type of campaign project which will use the Warcraft III engine to make an artificial World of Warcraft, originally created by Blizzard Entertainment. You'll choose your own race and class. You will venture the lands of Azeroth which contains well terrained landscapes that aim to look very similar to the landscape in World of Warcraft. Wc3:WoW uses a special 3rd Person 3D camera which is almost exactly like the cameras in World of Warcraft. Moving from map to map to get further in the lands of Azeroth, Searching and doing as many quests you can find, some will be quests from World of Warcraft, others will be made up and totally new quests. We also implemented the "Wandering NPCs" System which allow you to see the NPCs wandering around the world and act as real people playing with you and you can even add them to your party to join you in your epic questing or help you grind for experience And their A.I. is amazing and like something never before seen in Warcraft III history... Wc3:WoW also plans to become a monthly fee free MMORPG and will require no payment to play either (Except to buy Wc3:Reign of Chaos and Wc3:The Frozen Throne). Wc3:WoW is already known world-wide and we hope that by the time it becomes an MMORPG, that our reputation and number of fans grows much larger!
What makes this mod seem/look like World of Warcraft?
==============================================================
Many things make it seem like the original game, World of Warcraft. For example, you can invite NPC heroes that wander around and grind and sometimes try to fight against alliance NPC heroes that come onto Horde/Alliance territory to pick a fight. They can also join your group if you ask them to. Once they join your group, they will follow you wherever you go until you or they die. You can also tell them to go ahead of you and attack something. You also have professions such as Herbalism. The Alliance also comes to Horde territory and will try to gank you and your group-mates! A controlable camera, giving you the ability to change the camera angle and camera distance. There is also a Keyboard Movement System, which can prove to be more useful than clicking everywhere on the minimap and on the terrain. And of course, the great in-game A.I. making it seem almost as if you were playing the the game with other people!

Will the next demo or a demo soon to come afterwards support multiplayer?
==============================================================
Due to WarSoc still not being released yet and being announced to the Wc3:WoW Team that it won't be done for quite a while, expecting one any time soon is definitely out of the question since we haven't even started preparing for the multiplayer version. Another reason why it won't come soon, even after WarSoc is released, is because we will need to recode just about everything in Wc3:WoW, however the terrain will not be needed to be replaced.
Warcraft III : World of Warcraft Progress and Project Planning
==============================================================
Almost all of the basic triggers are already done, but we still need to fix a lot of bugs. If you discover any bugs that have not already been reported, please report any bugs you find in the game at our forums and it will be fixed in the next demo. About the next release, we are focusing the project primarily on the Western region, which is Kalimdor and Teldrassil. However, talk about bringing Lordaeron into the mod is at hand as well. We may also include Tirisfal Glades, The Undercity, Stormwind, and Elwyn Forest in the next version, so stay tuned and keep checking the News page for the latest updates!
How many quests are included in the next demo?
==============================================================
In the next demo, there will be five quests per newbie zone. Ten quests in total for each race. Example: Orcs recieve quests from Orc NPC's in the Valley of Trials, but must venture to Mulgore and into the Tauren's newbie zone to recieve Tauren quests by interacting with Tauren NPC quest givers.
What is the estimated filesize of the currently released demo and the demo still to come?
==============================================================
The previously released demo was 18,633kb (Demo has been removed from website.) and the upcoming demo will be around 30-38mb.
How many maps will be in the next demo so far?
==============================================================
So far 16 maps are completed, we plan to have about 18 in the next demo release though.
What areas will be included in the next public demo?
==============================================================
Ashenvale, Barrens, Darnassus, Dolanar, Durotar, Echo Isles, Elwyn Forest, Mulgore, Orgrimmar, Ragefire Chasm, Stormwind City, Teldrassil, Thunder Bluff, Tirisfal Glades, The Undercity. (Names in bold are either done or almost done)
What areas are completed so far and need no further work, at least for a while?
==============================================================
All of Mulgore is completed, Durotar is almost completed, and Darnassus is almost completed as well. However, Thunder Bluff of Mulgore (Tauren City) is going to be revamped and made much more accurately than it is now to make it look a lot more like the Thunder Bluff in World of Warcraft.

This weekend, I didn't get much terrain work done. Since Mulgore and Durotar are such large zones with plenty of hills and whatnot to recreate accurately, I'm going to have to subscribe my WoW account again so I can have many hours of access to the game so I can work on the terrain whenever I want on my own time. I've been using trial accounts for terraining Mulgore, but it isn't getting me far. So I've decided to start working on Orgrimmar again and hopefully finish that by the end of December... hopefully earlier! Without an actively open World of Warcraft in windowed-mode, I must resort to screenshots and videos. If you WoW players out there are interested in helping at all, I can really make use of screenshots and videos of The Drag, Valley of Wisdom, and Valley of Honor. The more screenshots and videos I have to reference back to while terraining, the better and the quicker I can get the terrain done!
Yixx has been installing Windows 7 and getting his PC all setup this week, but he'll begin working on Wc3:WoW tomorrow. Our priorities have changed today in what we're going to focus on triggering. Instead of focusing on a bunch of little systems first, we're going to try to get the arrow key movement system and adjustable camera system done as soon as possible, that way, we can begin alpha testing even sooner! (Alpha testing is restricted only to developers, FYI) After that, we'll begin working on Character Creation and other cool systems and features that will help build up towards the great infrastructure of Wc3:WoW.
Speaking of infrastructure, I've been doing a lot of cleaning up and reorganizing to make instructions for our developers easier and also to make the public understand the mod better. I'm far from done - to be quite honest, I don't think one can ever be done with organizing and cleaning! There's always so much more you can add or replace! But anyway, this means that our forums and team is becoming more organized and will able to work more efficiently than before.
Unfortunately, I cannot provide any nice screenshots since the terrain changes to Orgrimmar were very minor and I cannot get much else done until I get more references. Therefore, you guys will just have to wait until next weekend's update! (If I get any reference images or videos of The Drag, Valley of Honor, or Valley of Wisdom from Orgrimmar)
Stay tuned!
[EDIT]:
Thanks to helpful and caring users of the community such as Oohforf and Sarj14, I am able to continue working on Orgrimmar. So far, I've made some nice progress on The Drag, but I'm not satisfied with how it looks just yet... I'm hoping to be able to post screenshots of new progress with Orgrimmar this weekend.
Due to our sudden change of plans on what we're going to develop first in Wc3:WoW, there will be a slight delay in our schedule, but it will benefit the team and project a lot in the long-run. Because we're focusing on getting the mod to a playable and functional state, getting Wc3:WoW to be compatible (and therefore requiring) version the 1.24b patch has become our top priority. I've already uploaded the file and sent it to Yixx to work on it immediately tomorrow. Also, to ensure that the mod is playable for Wc3:WoW standards, Yixx is now postponing the process of completing the floating names system, mob system, and respawn system, and is instead working on a brand new 3rd person camera system that will allow the player to either adjust the camera's X and Y values with the arrow keys or allow the camera's rotation be on automatic. The player can scroll up or down to zoom in or out. When the camera is set to automatically rotate, the arrow keys will be used to move your character forward, backwards, and to turn left and right.

This mod looks great almost exactly as in World Of Warcraft
Now if only you could get reflective textures in the wc3 engine.
I'd be really happy if we could get dynamic shadows and lighting too. Who knows... it may happen eventually if it is possible.
Can u move with W,A,S,D or only with mouse clicks like in original WC3?
You can move using Right-Mouse clicking on the ground with your character selected or simply use the arrow keys.
I think they are using the arrow keys.
Nice mod ^^
Unfortunately no. The two most voted for Alliance races are Humans and Dwarves.
Horde has Tauren,Orc,Troll so Alliance races should be Human,Dwarf,Highelf.I know highelves have become bloodelves,some of them remained as they are however.
We have no plans of adding new races that were not in the original World of Warcraft game. No playable Blood Elves, Draenai, Worgen, or Goblins. Alliance has the Paladin class, Horde has Shamans. Death Knights will NEVER be a playable class, since I personally think that it's a contradicting idea that Death Knights can take a side on the Alliance and Horde... they were Scourge only in WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, and seemed logical to keep it that way. Apparently Blizzard Entertainment thought differently.
