UT40K: The Chosen
Although 40K players and other Mod Teams may not have heard about us, we have in fact been going on, for quite a while. The fact that a ModDB page was never set up for us has only just been brought to light.
We are a small but dedicated team, devoted to bringing the universe of Games Workshops Warhammer 40,000 to it's full glory, using the Unreal3 engine.
While we have been toiling in the shadows, we have actually managed to release a Number of Public Betas over the last year and improve on them with each upgrade.
We are devoted to remaining as close to the publish code rules as we possibly can, and plan to continue this until development is completed.
We are attempting to offer all races of the 40K universe for players to choose from, and will be implementing as many troop, weapon, vehicle and environment types as humanly possible into the game.
We are currently a very small team, but we are exceptionally dedicated.
It should be noted that with the release of the UDK, we are performing a port, of all models, textures and game play functions as quickly as possible allowing us to create a stand alone game so UT3 is no longer needed to enjoy this project.
We have setup a steam community group for fans and testers alike to make their opinions heard, and also to aid in the online aspect of testing. If you wish to join it, check here.
HELP WANTED:
Instead of posting a "Help Wanted" bulletin, I will say this here. We need all the help that you can offer. We currently have a team of around 6 members all doing their part, but a lack of specialists means that progress at times can be very slow. We ask that you be committed, that you are a team player, and ideally you can provide an example (or several examples) of previous work, although this is not mandatory.
HOW TO DOWNLOAD:
Go to our downloads section and find the latest build version. Afterwards check out the Beta Testers section of the forums to give us any feedback you think necessary for the good of the project.

On hold till further notice.
ok i know its bad news but reality has set in and until i can find someone to do the code required to set the weapons per class. atm there is little point of releasing another build till the weapons are sorted. Don't worry its not the end as i'll still be working on the game, content creation takes time as does doing additional animsets for the extra characters eg the Terms and the Orks.
so please bear with me till i can release a build worth playing.
also i've build doing a little map building with a few more in mind but this sort of thing takes even longer to do as i'm trying to copy some of the buildings seen i a few of the white drawfs, it also means re-working some of the meshes to improve them for the future porting.

December 2012 what's new for this build ? well after a lot of work over the last few month i've made progress on part of the code with the help of "jpvg...
UT40k build 011109 our latest build, check the update list for changes
a quick video on how to install the UT40k mod into UT3
A short movie on how to start a UT40k game. sorry no sound atm
ok again no update this month due to the fact still no progress with the code
what i will promise is that at the end of this month i'll do a re-build which will include the Terms and the Vyper plus any thing else i manage to do this month.
i would like to wait for a coder but i can't see that happening in the near future
cheers Geodav
Oh cool can I gut ppl with a chainsword?
I betcha every1's gonna wanna do that.
not yet but maybe later, just a bit to much coding for me to do it
That and they would need to get the gib's custom made for each model when you do gut them XD
or do you plan on using a fracture modifier just to get them hastily ready?
uhm.. atm we have ca. 15 different characters which would all need gib's to be made, thats about 10 gib's per character plus the code that goes with it. maybe if i had done it right from the start but at this stage i doubt i'll have the time to do it

Can't wait for what.
go on download play have fun
nice but there is not a single game which will play like Warhammer 40,000 table top game which i started playing in 1992 long before DoW but around the time of Space Crusade.
Just for your interest i've been working on this game for a very long time and for the last few years mainly on my own.
The game play is as the name suggest UT (unreal Tournament) the basic main gametype is Warfare where you need to control areas to win the game.
So far this is the only game that allows you the player to use the vehicles, yes BF40k did have some vehicles to a limit.
Thats the way the mod scene works, one guy has an idea then finds others to help, just i do it as a hobby.
what i suggest is that you start learning to make a game yourself, i'm not being nasty but until people realise how much work goes into a game they won't understand what they are asking
I gotta support Geodav. Sure he's just putting 40k stuff into a deathmatch game, but there's almost no other 40k first person mods around. It's great fun just to muck around with the vehicles and weapons that Geodav has implemented. It's stupid to expect he's making a campaign or fully immersive game modes.
The concept is "run around and blast away with 40k models, vehicles and weapons in deathmatches" and it does that wonderfully.
glad you like it, the next build is in slow progress, maybe not till april, earlier if i can find a coder
