The Elder Scrolls: Total War v 2.0.2 standalone version
Installation step by step:
- Delete previous versions of The Elder Scrolls: Total War if you have one
- Patch your Kingdoms.exe and Medieval2.exe with 4gb_patcher
- Draw The_Elder_Scrolls folder from rar archive to your Medieval 2 Total War/mods folder
- Use TESTW Launcher to start mod. If it works incorrectly, disable filed "read only" in Medieval2.preferences.cfg (or use The_Elder_Scrolls.bat if launcher doesn't work)
- If you want to disable ReallyBadAi - Click options in TESTW launcher and take a mark оn Disable ReallyBadAi field, save.
- If you have problems with UI glitching, go to The_Elder_Scrolls\Data\UI and delete shared.sd, battle.sd, strategy.sd files
IF YOU EXPERIENCE CRASHES WHEN LAUNCHING MOD
- Copy and rename medieval2.exe to kingdoms.exe if you experience crashes in Steam version. You should have both these in game folder
- Use 4gb patcher to update BOTH kingdoms.exe and medieval2.exe
- Delete events.dat and events.idx in The_Elder_Scrolls\data\sounds
- If you can't recruit units from some barracks (usually it's cavalry), go to The_Elder_Scrolls\Data\world\base (The_Elder_Scrolls\Data\world\campaign\custom\Fourth_Era) for Fourth_Era) and delete map.rwm
- If you still have crash while entering the mod, try to relaunch steam
- NOTE: you can't switch between campaign menus without crashing. Choose which campaign you will play BEFORE entering it's menu. Where is no solution to fix it.

I just removed the old version I had, then moved this versions folder in the mods folder but in the options menu, it still says "Ver. 1.52" Did I do something wrong? Also this The King and the Crusader "Logo" is nowhere to be seen.

From what i gather up until version 2.0 there were less steps to the installation, did you follow all the steps for this update?

i keep getting Medieval 2 Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit how do i fix it
I dont know if this will work for you or not, but I got the same thing. Basically I realized I downloaded the 4g patch after I was supposed to and not before. So I deleted and tried again the right way and for some reason Medieval 2 decided to reinstall. After that it was fine. So go ahead and give it a try. If it doesnt auto reinstall Medieval 2 for you then try to unistall and reinstall. Launch from Tes total war launcher tho. hope this makes sense lol

hey thanks for the new version, looks great! trying out all the factions all of which are great, especially the great houses imo. just something i noticed, the Hlaalu Royal Guard models look just a bit smaller than everyone else, like they're downscaled to 90-95% or something, so they just look a bit off in the battlefield. sorry i wasnt sure if anyone else mentioned that already

I deleted map.rwm but am still unable to get Cav units in the fourth era
I'm having a similar issue; playing as cyrodiil in the 4th era, I can't recruit cavalry. I tried deleting map.rwm, but nothing has changed.
Before The King and Crusader update, playing as cyrodiil in the 3rd era, I couldn't recruit archers, but after the update that issue no longer exists.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hello everyone, a question I followed the installation steps but when I start TESTW Launcher to start the mod it gives me the error 0xc0000142 (kingdoms.exe) when I run it from The_Elder_Scrolls.bat it says that it is misspelled or cannot be found by someone I can help to solve the problem please?
It's in installation instructions. You either didn't create kingdoms.exe or didn't apply 4gb patch to it. Read instructions carefully
Efectúe una copia del archivo ejecutable "medieval2.exe" y renombre la copia "kingdoms.exe." Parche ambos ejecutables con el parche 4gb. Tiene que parchear ambos ejecutables o el programa se bloqueará.
Make a copy of medieval2.exe and rename the copy kingdoms.exe. Afterwards, apply the 4GB patch to both executables. Make sure to patch both executables or the game will crash at launch.

I'm surprised it hasn't been asked yet but how do you get access to the new mercenary armies? I didn't see it in the changelog.
It depends on the faction you play as and the buildings you construct, or if you capture a specific settlement on the map.
If you are a faction that can recruit them, you will receive a scroll about it in the first turns

Try downloading the mod again. Delete any old versions of the mod you may have and then install it to the mods folder.

In the Fourth Era campaign, House Sadras has the Imperial banner on the battle map, and the House Hlaalu sigil on the campaign map. How can I go about fixing this?
Historical battles seem to be broken. The Battle of the Red Ring crashes the game during loading, and when trying the first one on the list (I think it's Dragonstar? Not sure) it crashed after quitting. Other battles don't seem to do this, and the campaign works fine, though I haven't fought a campaign battle yet.

Hi, I am also having the problem that I can't recruit cavalry despite building a stable. I deleted the file which you named int he description, but it still doesn't work. Any idea? I tested it with the Nords and Cyrodiil.
You gotta start a new campaign after deleting it (nake sure you deleted it for both campaigns)
The game crashes in every 2-3 end turns, or even after a non-autoresolved battle. Am I the only one experiencing this?
Hi there, I've rebalanced every single unit in the descr_unit file to my own liking in V 2.0 and would very much like to avoid doing all that again. what would be the easiest way to install this version while keeping my own changes to the descr _unit file? simply copy paste my text over the corresponding unit in this version?

Or easier would probably be instead taking new units entries from 2.0.1/2.0.2 and inserting it in your txt file. I think the additions are maybe "just" Crusader and Kings units?
