I refrained from adding any chapter-specific responses from the set, actually, so it's good for general Astartes use!

Using a bit more foresight than I knew I had :P

edit - I was a little slow on the uptake - if you would like me to perform some Chapter-specific lines for another project it would be my pleasure.

What Chapter did you have in mind? I know you are involved in a couple of Space Marine projects - Dark Angels? Black Templars? I'm happy to do either, but we'll see how my accent can handle the latter!

Those gatling guns are actually Thunderfire heavy support cannons. Basically mobile turrets. That are awesome.

Yeah it's the POV. Some people like them normal size, less uber, and not too dominating. Others like them tall, fearsome, and apocalyptic.

Questions:

Are you guys planning on scaling the vehicles to a more realistic size like in Dow II? I suppose it would be a bad idea specially if you have a lot of guys on the map at one time.

Are you guys going to stick to codex rules or gonna take things in a way that better suits you?

And, are you planning on changing the damage and armor mechanics like others did on other mods?

Having vehicles bigger in size leads to lots of pathfiding issues unless you make the resize without resizing the colision volume (vehicles crossing through each other like ghosts is not pretty). Making soldiers smaller like some mods did in my opinion is not better, scale is better but if you want to be precise in scale soldiers become difficult to spot from the strategic position above the battlefield.

Sp, in other words, changing vehicle sizes is a lot of trouble to apply properly. Well given the size of the titans, I guess there will be much to learn regarding pathfinding with large units.

Answers:

1) Maybe.

2) Both, actually. We tend to stick to what suits us most, but without codex or some fluff, there will really be no folks that love the codex and love to play the mod.

3) Nuh uh. I was hoping to keep it this way because I like not dealing with 20+ armor types, just too much. 18 as it is; is already good.

Now that you mention that I have to agree as well on the third point. I remember playing another mod where infantry units could not do squat against armor or buildings unless they had the proper weapons. Awesome in the realism but kinda tedious as well. Not to mention that the AI would spend hours with 100+ soldiers trying to destroy one of my Listening Posts. Which led to that issue in specific, if you impemented a new damage mechanic you would also have to tweak the AI as well.

But, it's not about adding a new armor damage mechanics, it's about changing attributes. I planned on doing that in 1.73.
