Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Actually Shockwave's Nuke Cannon was a copy of this one, SWR just posted it in an update for Shockwave before they did with RotR.

You guys should reasearch into what Neutron weapons actually do to people provided they aren't killed instantly, then you will understand why they were prohibited.

Neutrons weapons went out, not because of lore especialy ( that was made just to explain it story wise ), but because of new codding stuff wich would be screwed up if neutron weapons would stay in. Imo it's better without neutrons. That was one hell of an OP weapon in ZH.

Really good model, much better than old one but... more powerful? It is already too powerful but I'm not sure that more firepower will help them much. It is still an easy target for most of the other long range artillery units (msta, tomahavk, etc). So it wasn't OP. It'll be better to increade her survivability instead.
Haha...Budapest Convention prohibited to kill drivers inside the vehicles but at the same time allowed to smash them to pieces with tactical nuclear weapons! I call it a true european humanism!

"Neutron Weaponry" so yes, Neutron shell and mines are gone. So much for our strategy with use of Neutron weaponry... well! Back to drawing board again -__-

I wish in exchange for banned use of Neutron mines, the mines deals larger damage than classic ones. Something like an upgrade. Anyone agrees? What is lost has something in return ^_^

Mines' quantity and damage are already hellish enough for those units who are so fullish to get close to buildings so there is no need to make them more powerful.
In return you say... as I've mentioned above it's better to increase their protection.

Increase protection of a building? Nah... China's units are already offensive it is the best defense already. No need for increase protection. China is more on offensive.

no - i consider those neutron-mines a good stuff because that prevented enemy units to do ANY step inside your base. with those basic mines, all you need is an armoured unit with many hp like the overlord or the sentinel and those mines don't bother you at all...

Its sad that our nuke cannon wont deliver any more neutron. But what about its AI? I remember when i put it into defensive position, for every enemy it fired upon, the nuke had to undeploy then deploy again, kinda get on my nerves. Shouldnt it stay deployed in the middle of its defensive area and then bombard enemies that get in sight and range?!

Ohh btw, nice model, as always!

Reply Good karma Bad karma+3 votes
ComeradeStalin
ComeradeStalin - - 2,619 comments

For keeping them deployed instead of putting them into defense position you'd better let them to make a single shot to area you need and than press stop. Cannon will stay deployed and will shoot enemies herself, but you still need to control it sometimes. For example when I deployed 4 cannons in such way 2 of them shooted all the time while 2 others could undeploy after 2-3 shots. Yeah it is still annoying but better then nothing.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
BurguerCat
BurguerCat - - 167 comments

Interesting, all those 4 nuke you say are kept close?

I still wish there was a single button for "stay-and-bombard" order. Could be called "sentry" or such. heehhe

And smarten up for elite artilery: They could benefit from balistics upgrade once they become elite. so they could hit moving targets more easily.

oh, just sugestions. =)
lol forgot to put in reply mode.

Not to close: in a distance of nearly two lengths of standard chinese bunker.
If they will be able to hit moving targets they should make less damage.
Uncontrolled shells cause more damage - it is our reality...

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
BurguerCat
BurguerCat - - 167 comments

for example.

A standard unit, say the rebel. When he becomes elite he gains more dmg. Artilery should keep their base damage and increase their acuracy when they lvl up.

That would not work sadly, except you want to imply several bugs. Maybe for the Nuke Cannon it could do, but for several others not.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

BurguerCat - - 167 comments

ya...

U got the point. Giving new behaviour or enhancing one may cause too many bugs. Its a problem that, when solved, create many others. If I got it right.

also, deploying these monsters in defensive mode will encourage players to turtle around with China, wich is not meant to be. That would be ECA.

thank you all guys.

I have to admit I hate when I ordered my unit to Guard then my Nuke Cannon fires, then redeploy again?? That's something I hate... maybe it's a bug error or something...

And... something weird in General's Challenge like Demo General's Topol, I mean.... That Topol's range is increased but when I'm using it, it's not the same range as I encounter with Demo General's Topol.... That's unfair...

There is nothing you can do with that cannons right now. It is a question of occasion. One will shoot until the end of the game, another will undeploy after 2-3 shots. As I know it is already corrected in 1.5.

one strange thing is how that big scud rocket can be ezly dealt with by a laser from from avenger.

The laser can disable some small RPG and stingers, but a whole SCUD?!
it would at max change its trajectory (dont know how to spell that, sry)but not destroy or knock it away.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

ComeradeStalin - - 2,619 comments

Yeah it would be much better and much more plausible if such heavy AA as S-300 could hit so big missiles like SCUD and Tomahavk instead of just lasers what is rather strange.

just the other day, 2 stinger sites and 2 scud launchers got beaten by 2 paladins and a damn avenger.

i tought the stingers would be a cannon folder while de scuds send them all to hell.

When a saw the scuds being repeled I raged like ****.

I know I know...I've meant that it lose to other artillery, which is more rapid and don't need to be deployed (msta, tomahavk, etc). If it is so slow it need more protection (it carries nukes by the way). All mentioned above artillery (1vs1) can destroy it with 2 shots before cannon will be deployed.

Well such is a strategy of China: they do not use higly accurate technologies like USA or brute and highly armored frontal assault monsters like Russia. Their choice is cheap mean units and overwhelming numbers. And...it's damn effective tactic you know.

Description

The Nuke Cannon of the new generation is a terrifying opponent. It is now armed with a new ordinance and is capable of a much superior firing range and its destructiveness has increased many times over however it is no longer possesses neutron weaponry since the Budapest Convention of 2027. A bright white light, a shockwave and you are history.
