An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.

The desolator weapon defies science, it's pH level is 19. In other words, IT MELTY

(buried)

Could it be possible to have desolator weapons sometimes 'mutate' enemies? And soviets would get a kind of mutant infantry that are healed by desolation. Alot like the mutants off of tiberium wars.

I think that would be against the quasi-serious tone of the mod.

I disagree,a mutant unit wouldn't be cheesy and break the seriousness of the mod. Mutants just don't fit Red Alert. So no for mutants.

Toxins aren't tiberium. The only mutation you're going to get off of desolator defoilant is "melty".

well it looks great but why the toxins cause damage to the tower when it uses it's special?and when u say "reducing vehicle defenses considerably and making them easy prey for other soviet defenses." u mean sth like the guardian's special but with a different effect?

Ahh
Glad to see Paradox posting some images again. These towers are pretty beastly looking.

Also if it "dumped" its tanks wouldn't that mean they would be empty afterwords? making the tower useless afterwords? I'd see that as a very interesting twist, making its secondary more of a last resort weapon.

Well according to the paradoxcast, the tower dumps using its secondary and can also stop dumping by clicking the secondary again

The Desolator Tower is actually supplied by hoses that go underground; the tanks on the top are just a redundant reservoir, and I reckon it dumps those, without any change in firing pressure. Soviets aren't dummies.

Remove the tower-self damage, and I may be inclined to use Soviets again! And thats just to show the middle finger to the pesky PK rushes.

It would be a tie.the cryo would freeze the deso-tower,but would not be able to attack it.or,if the deso had enough fire power,he would destroy the cryo-tower before.

Quick Patch .92 query - will the Soviet and Empire protocols be jury rigged into a similar style to the Allied and Confederate protocols? And if so, does this mean the normal way of gaining Protocol Powers is disabled, or could this potentially be game breaking.

Nice tower BTW, no complaints from me ^.^

yes, indeed that is exactly what it means. All protocolls will work like in C&C 3. Detailed information of the Soviets new protoclls and what buidlings they are tied to are found here: Wiki.paradoxmod.com

The soviets will have a concrete glider (mythbusters ftw!) that is filled with spetznas and micro hammer tanks

Less, now, actually, because of the presence of the desolator tower's armour reducing properties.

Replacing that with the Desolator Tower would mean getting rid of the hilarious animation of the conscript throwing away his vodka bottle when you select him. And that's just terrible.

Description

The Soviet's new intermediate defense, the Desolator Tower, in addition to being very powerful against traditional infantry, it eats away at metal armour, reducing vehicle defenses considerably and making them easy prey for other soviet defenses. It can also dump its fuel tanks and cover the area around itself with desolator defoliant, locking the area off but damaging the tower.

The Desolator Tower will be featured in beta patch .92, so watch out, peacekeepers and minutemen!
