Operation: Black Mesa is a total Source remake of Half Life: Opposing Force. Using the Source engine, the developers plan to recreate the Black Mesa research Facility as it was seen by Corporal Adrian Shephard of the H.E.C.U. Half-life: Opposing Force is still an amazing game, although it is not nearly as amazing as it was when it was released.

Otis was never meant to have that candy bar. It is a fixed moment in time, changing it will damage the timeline which could lead to catastrophic results.

You can start the game with an MP5 or a shotgun or both. All without cheats. This screenshot could be legit (even though it's probably not)
How: During the cutscenes in the beginning, in one of them (near the crashed plane) you can move around while soldiers and aliens are fighting. You have about 4 seconds of freedom before you black out again. if you use those four seconds to climb the plane and get to the other side of the fence, you can obtain the MP5 of the marine that gets killed in the last second. It's tricky, because if you're too quick, the grunt will start aiming at you instead and the soldier will survive. For the shotgun, it's the same thing with another soldier, but it's a lot harder because this one doesn't die naturally during the cutscene, so you have to take the aggro of a couple monsters and make them attack him in order for him to die. Look at Quadrazid's 19min speedrun to see it for yourself.
Btw OBM team, please keep this trick in the game, it's hard enough to not be a game breaker, it's just awesome :)

I think you should take a page from Black Mesa's book and put the green collars on the Vortigaunts. Because that would be a major letdown if it wasn't included.

The actual vortigaunts used in the mod use the model variation with the green neck collars and wrist constraints. The ones in this screenshot were just spawned using the console I believe. So don't worry, they are used :)
i'm curious abour how are you gonna make the xen levels. are you going to expand them like the BM team is going to do.

It just uses normal ragdoll physics.

Hate to nitpick such an awesome screenshot but i did notice that texture gap on the mp5 between the charging handle and forward grip, wasn't sure if you folks on the dev team knew or not.

Hmm, i hope they change the SMG to a M4A1 cause seriously, why would the military carry SMGs instead of Assault Rifles. But still good work though.
There will be a menu option to enable Hi-Def Pack weapons (Glock -> Beretta, MP5+M203 -> M4A1+M203) when the mod launches.
Oh sure you make a mod but you can't take the time to make a small Gmod map pack of black mesa before it was destroyed you can't do that for us and make us happy the mod is fantastic but I would like it if you just did a small map pack or just one map for us all please I beg of you? Just do it for us you can do it not now but one day I beg of you PLEASE??? Have a nice day :)

I recommend using the old Half Life 2 vort textures, they looked more like the HL1 "islaves" and for this they need to look more aliens whereas their newer skin valve put in was to make them look more approachable as allies.
I think the Ep2 texture is better.
I think m4a1 attached m203 is a good choice as a main weapon

the mp5 in black mesa has a tactical stock and this one does not, so add one to the mp5 and its pulled out like the one in black mesa
