The objective of the Killer App Mod for TRON 2.0 on the PC, is to incorporate elements from TRON 2.0: Killer App for the Xbox platform that were never released for the PC version of TRON 2.0. It also includes other fixes and additions for the game. New to Version 1.1 of the mod is 16:9 and 16:10 Widescreen support.
Due to the sheer number of updates that the mod will make to the game, from the most minor to the major: the mod has been released as an Open Beta. This will allow for testing by a broad range of users, to help discover any problems that may crop up. These issues will be dealt with in another future Version 1.2, based on everyone's feedback.
Note that the Killer App Mod allows you to choose Français, Deutsch, Italiano, and Español text for use in the game, after you install the Unofficial v1.042 Patch. In other words: if you download and install the Unofficial Patch, you can later change the language from English. The mod also fixes the missing sounds issue when you host a Dedicated Server with the Unofficial Patch. Therefore, there is really no reason to use the Official Patch any more.
Also note that if you want to use Xistence's Ancient Disc Mod, you must download and install it first before you install the Killer App Mod.
When using Single Player with the Killer App Mod, older saved games will not work and loading them will cause the game to crash. You must either disable the mod to load old saved games, or start a new game. Since the mod fixes a few issues and adds some things: you will probably want to enjoy the new improved experience in Single Player from the beginning, anyway.
When using Multiplayer with the mod, EVERYONE must be using the mod in order to access the new features when playing together. This inculdes the host (server) and all players (clients). This new Version 1.1 of the mod is not compatible in Multiplayer with the old Version 1.0. (If you have the old version, you must uninstall it first.)
If you try to join a Multiplayer server not running the mod, you will be kicked off and the game will let you know why. If you cannot find any servers running the mod at the time that you want to play online, the mod can be completely disabled to allow you to play with others who do not have it.
If there are no servers running the mod: you will need to contact the server operators and request that they start using the Killer App Mod, or host your own server. When setting up a server using the mod, you should add a KAMod tag to the name of your server so that players can differentiate between those either using or not using the mod.

In early December 2012, GameSpy dropped support for TRON 2.0 Multiplayer. So LDSO and schmatzler of tron-servers.net have done something about it.
Download the TRON 2.0 Multiplayer Fix
This is being released on its own right now, as an emergency fix to allow players to easily Join and Host servers again. But it will be incorporated into v1.2 of the Killer App Mod when it's released, so that a separate download won't be necessary later.
LDSO did not make this fan-made Russian translation. We are seeking permission from the group that created it, to add the translation to v1.2 of the mod. We've attempted to discover contact info on our own, but cannot find an e-mail address or anything useful.
If anyone has contact information for the translators, please let us know via the contact link on the LDSO web site listed below. Thank you!
There are also plans for a Hungarian translation in the v1.2 update, with thanks going out to a fan who has given his blessing, that will allow his already existing translation to be added to the mod.
We don't have an exact ETA for the Killer App Mod v1.2 update. But the recent shutdown of the GameSpy TRON 2.0 master server (requiring the emergency fix), and other factors, have impacted the release date. We're now hoping to have it done in the first half of 2013.
You can also check out other new features in v1.2, from an earlier news post. Such as new weapons, an improved installation experience, and widescreen working better than before.

i cant get this to work. the resolution just wont work.i followd the instructions the setup set my resoution. when i run the game its just displayd in standerd 640 by 480 im at a loss here..how long will we have to wait for the new 1.2 killer app..im thinkin to allow this one as its not working for me :(
You probably went into the Display options menu, which caused the resolution to reset to 640x480. As I mentioned in an earlier comment "the game doesn't support selecting any resolution that isn't 4:3 aspect ratio. That's why when you go into the Display options, it resets to a low resolution. Running the Mod Manager is supposed to reset the resolution back to what you chose during install. Worst case scenario, you can edit the resolution in the display.cfg file in your Tron 2.0 folder."
TronFAQ, I wanted to let you and your team know, just today I posted my latest exhaustive article on gamexotic.com about Tron 2.0 with Killer App Mod v1.1. I say some fascinating things about this mod created by you and your team. I think you'll be interested in going there and reading everything I have to say.
Thanks! The in-depth write up you did on both the game and the mod is appreciated. And I agree with a lot of the sentiment expressed in the review, about how the game didn't exactly get a fair shake.
Thank you so much for taking a look, and for your positive feedback on my article. Also, thanks to you and your team for taking the time to bring us this amazing mod. I promise I will be continuing to follow the Killer App Mod. If you have anything you would like me to announce on Gamexotic.com in the future you're always welcome to email me any information at gamexotic at gmail dot com.
how exactly did you add widescreen support was it a hex edit of the .exe? I am just curious because I have been trying to add that feature to sonic riders on pc
LDSO has released an updated version of the TRON 2.0 Complete Map Pack, which contains every custom Multiplayer map ever released.

LDSO released two new downloads in time for the 30th Anniversary of TRON yesterday, more here: Tronfaq.blogspot.com
Once you set the resolution in the installer you can't go back in and mess with the resolution setting in the game. Doing that will revert the resolution to your in game setting. I have it running perfectly with the 1.1 installer and plenty of screenshots to prove it on gamexotic.com
First off, v1.0 never supported widescreen. In fact, it didn't even see a wide release. It was v1.1 that first added widescreen.
I know that you've had this mod working in widescreen in the past. Well, nothing has changed since then. You're still using the same version of the mod.
The installer getting stuck only happens to a small percentage of people. But I agree that it's a significant problem. It's most likely caused by an anti-virus or firewall interfering with the process. That's why Safe Mode works, nothing else is running at the time when you install in Safe Mode.
As for the resolution, it's stated in the readme and the troubleshooting guide that the game doesn't support selecting any resolution that isn't 4:3 aspect ratio. That's why when you go into the Display options, it resets to a low resolution. Running the Mod Manager is supposed to reset the resolution back to what you chose during install. Worst case scenario, you can edit the resolution in the display.cfg file in your Tron 2.0 folder.
In v1.2, you'll be able to select any resolution in the game itself. Why wasn't this the case before in v1.1? Simply because it's something that wasn't easy to implement.
If you continue to have trouble, ask for help on Facebook, our LDSO.net forum (you've posted there before), or send us an e-mail.
