This is the new map I've been working on. It's an RTS adaptation of Blood Gulch and it's at night. You'll have to let me know what you think of the night setting...it may be too hard to see to be fun playing...

I'd imagine the particle effects look really nice in a night setting.
Yes they do:) the laser glow "shadows" look really nice too.
sweet, i know how hard it is to do land maps and uve done a good job by the look of it, by why not do a massive forge world type map, something massive with a free form build system (i can explain more if u PM me)

How would that be any different than just the existing map editor?
It would save people the work of messing with textures and such. In the end though, no difference.

No. I meant that players will just have a world to use in the map editor...something to get started on so they only have to place props, rather than tweak elevations and textures and stuff. Map editor for noobs basically.
Perhaps give them some landscape settings(referring to noobs :P) to make a nice looking map with minimal effort. Just hypothetical.
Looks pretty sweet. I think the night setting is actually not a bad idea. Would also be fairly unique, as few RTS maps actually feature night time.

The work started before I posted to Moddb...I count that as part of the two years.
Fantastic map there! I like the idea of night, it's not often used. Just a thought, perhaps using the editor's "fog" option could add to the feel of darkness enveloped over the area (set to a dark color). It might make it too hard to see though.
The projectiles really pop with this lighting.
I tried fog but then you cant see the halo ring... However, im going to be making a custom weather condition that will be like "clear skies" but will have ambient cricket noises or something. Also, unique models can be set for specific weather conditions so then i can add marines with activated flashlights and stuff. I really think that will help simulate night.
Cool. Having flashlights under a new environment setting mimicking night? That's genius. Then again, I don't think we'd expect anything else.

Will you Change the stock FOC bunkers into the bunkers from Blood gulch? like from reach and halo 2?
also, it looks like you changed the tech level upgrade from the units to upgrades side! now i can defend while i go up tech levels

Will plasma and other weapons glow appropriately?
They already do. You can see it if they pass low enough to the ground. Barely though, because it's a day time map.
Reminds me back then playing some good ol' fun on Blood Gulch back in the day. The night setting looks good imo. Can't wait to see the particles lighting the dark lol.

Lil question is this the original bood gultch or d reworked1from halo2?(u sed u wer doing a king of d hill map type,is a flag capture type possible?) sweet idea.
I don't know if capture the flag would work or not... This is the original Blood Gulch...not Coagulation.
You could adjust capture the flag to be more like destroy the flag. You just need to rework code from the Destroy Command Center setting.
you need to make UNSC snipers and jackel marksmen so that the ridges can be better used by the infantry
He already did. Play the beta and you'll find ODST snipers and Jackal snipers.
Liking this alot. Changes a classic look for the better :D Perhaps you could make a daytime version and a nighttime version for some maps if that wouldn't be too time or memorey consuming.
Actually, the map editor allows you to set multpile weather or environment conditions that will randomly cycle each time a map is played on. So this map has a night and day setting...and a daytime rainy setting.
And a nightime rainy setting?
