The fate of the entire human race rests in your hands. Lead it to victory, or crush it as you march to salvation!
That looks awesome.
Also, will the Falcon get faster as it travels in a straight line? Or is that not possible with the engine?
This function is implemented by default for most ground units, including the Falcon. Almost all of the ground locomotors use this function.
yeah, that is the max speed, and max thrust, if i am not mistaken
Yes, I believe that's correct.
Awesome, the sky is simply amazing. Is there a way to make the planets border less noticeable?
The funny thing is that the dark ring that I think you are referring to...it isn't in the original texture... I don't know if it's the way the shader is interpreting the texture data or what but if I knew, it would be gone. lol
I don't think there is an acceleration multiplier tag.
Speed vs thrust. That's what controls it. The tag you are referring to is another variable that can be added to the equation but is not necessarily required for the function to work.
No words to describe how good this is.
looks excellent, and reminds me of when my team would charge on Spire with the Falcon
and how much will this cost, and im guessing you only get one :P
Falcons are not capped at one :) You can build as many as you like. They take 22 seconds to build and cost 1200 credits per. 1200 credits is somewhat expensive in relation to other units in the mod.
Those values are subject to change.
i suggest 1050 credits, just cuz i like that number :D
It'll depend just on how useful it really is. If I can transport six squads of ODSTs behind enemy lines with three Falcons, it'll be worth twice that!
THANKS EVERYONE :)
Looks really great....I still don't understand why the falcon uses propellers though.
Think of it like the US Marine Osprey. It's for greater maneuverability while keeping good flight speed.
Or something like that.
For your education: En.wikipedia.org
For all intents and purposes, the Falcon IS the Osprey... The design specs are almost identical, except that the Falcon is build around a smaller crew compliment.
If there was a planet that close to Earth, I think eclipses would occur Just a LITTLe bit more.
Nice to see the Falcon in-game! You never cease to amaze, Farseer.
Have you considered replacing the modeled rotors with planes that have a motion blurred texture applied?
I had considered that...the problem is then no shadows and harder to make a convincing animation for the deploy/undeploy states that are needed so it can act as a transport (rotors slow to a stop as it lands, etc). Besides, I don't think the rotors moved that fast in Reach anyway...they were slower than a typical rotors because additional lift was provided from the little jets underneath.
Dont worry though...I think the animations I made are convincing enough :)
to i see engine exhaust on the falcon ?
That you do
Farseer you beat me to this idea... very nicely implemented
dam that ship be fine!
they look sick bro!
i was wondering will the second release have a higher ground cap?
When can we expect this to be added to the Land Beta?
or will it not be added until final release?
I look forward to kicking the Covies off of our worlds with these.
