The fate of the entire human race rests in your hands. Lead it to victory, or crush it as you march to salvation!
Here is the completed airpad model and texture. Damage variants coming. And before anybody says anything, YES...I know the little caution lights are not aligned correctly with the edges of the door...I re-scaled it and forgot to move them accordingly. I will fix it.
Welcome back!
I love it!!
Clearly, there has been some recent vandalism at the UNSC base. Why else would those caution doohickeys be out of place? Really, the guards must be crazy.
(Interesting note: 'doohickeys' is apparently the proper pluralization. Not to mention that 'doohickey' is an accepted word.)
Oh...I suppose I should say something about the model. Certainly high quality (despite those caution things. Really. We must get those vandals!). Amazing work, as always.
It was Mr Chief...
"Sensors have picked up another one, sir. This one went right through the description. Right through. Didn't even read it. Not once."
"... fire ALL the lasers."
Funny! I will vouch for Vithar though. He's actually one of the more intelligent posters around here. He read the description and was replying sarcastically.
Looking good.
could definatly use some more texture details. The grey base part looks like grey paint and not really steel looking at all. A bit too flat for my taste. A few improvements here and there and it is awesome! :)
Yeah, the base looked MUCH plainer once I put it in game than it did in 3dsMax... I'll work on it.
Nice to see some updates. So you will kinda switch between working on this and RotM from time to time?
Idk to be honest. I got a sudden burst of Halo inspiration the other day so I made concept art and started modeling. If it keeps comin' to me, I'll keep modeling. Lol
Lol, whatever you feel doing. As long as you don't stop at all. :P
Nice! Though the green should be a bit more greyed I'm thinking. I've always imagined a bit more olive drab for the UNSC, or at least have something to break it up.
Not olive I don't think...but maybe just desaturate it slightly. It is just a touch too green.
Agreed. Maybe making the armored part a different color from the rest of it would look neat.
I can try it. Easy enough to change back if it doesn't work.
What is the building supposed to be? I thought it was going to be an ACT but it just looks like a green tower. Radar? Also I agree with Keksz, there should be more specular highlights, especially on the bare metal parts.
Yeah its a comms/radar tower and housing for the elevator mechanism. The actual hangar portions are underground.
At the very least I think you should make an access door. Maybe like the emergency bunker from Jurassic Park? Seems kind of silly the only way in is through the service elevator. Practical for the vehicles but impractical for personnel.
I figured they would just take the same elevator as the aircraft...but also that the underground base is a network...so they could technically have surface access there from, say, the bunker.
Freaking awesome!
Too bad the guys from Covenant at War don't want to work with you.
Goes both ways. We each have our own ideas and want to do different things. Our visions just don't line up enough to make a team together.
Well I can relate to that, however your mods should at least share models!
That's an area where we don't line up, specifically. Besides, it helps me keep my skills up to do all my own models.
If you want a jump start on space assets, I can hook you up with placeholders.
Pretty much this. It's not like we don't want to work with the_Farseer, it's just that our visions for the mod don't line up. We have great respect for the work Farseer does!
Likewise.
The airfield base looks simple (sorry about what I said), but I like your effort. Then I advice you, get more airfields (max 3) or make the base to big (I mean the size) (no force)
I think it's the tower that makes it feel a little plain. If you could put a window on it so it feels more like an ATC tower that might liven it up a bit. Just a thought.
It's not an ATC tower though... It's housing for the radar array and the motor the drives the elevator. All other systems are automated or handled underground.
Ahhhhh I see
