Five Elite Mercenaries are send to an Island in middle of the 1980'. The Task: Find and Eliminate a local Drug Baron. Features: new Physic, real Sunmovement, Day/Night Change, Hunger/Food system, realistic (!) Weather system, Light/Dark viewing system for AI, 5 different Fractions on the Island. Complete Realistic simulation of nearly all things, including Sleep. New weapons, new Vehicles. Vehicles driving system is now exact (!) like GTA IV , FireSystem,... this mod is Heavily inspired by GTA, IGI, FarCry.
the upper picture is the new version with environmental far distance fake shadow, basically identically, only the green terrain keeps dark between the big rocks on mountain.
it's not sooo clear on screenshot, but ingame the old (bottom picture) version looks totally "false" in motion, especially if you walk closer and the realtime shadow start to work and darkened then all up.
i think this effects comes from the darkened vegetation (bushes, grass), which does not fit without the shadow.
Great progress! I'm looking for more stuff about this map.
i slowly start to get ideas how i can use this map / force the player to explore this map (ok, big corridors). the idea: you can walk to the end of the map and avoid any enemy interaction and ignore all, but then you have to enter this Moddb.com section, find a prison inmate, resque him and go back to the startpoint of this map, but he can't and won't shoot very good, so, if the player does not have cleared the "field" map, he never will get the prison inmate living to the evacuation point.
it's very simple and not the heaviest story, but for a beta release and some nice fast action and exploring it should work.
