Five Elite Mercenaries are send to an Island in middle of the 1980'. The Task: Find and Eliminate a local Drug Baron. Features: new Physic, real Sunmovement, Day/Night Change, Hunger/Food system, realistic (!) Weather system, Light/Dark viewing system for AI, 5 different Fractions on the Island. Complete Realistic simulation of nearly all things, including Sleep. New weapons, new Vehicles. Vehicles driving system is now exact (!) like GTA IV , FireSystem,... this mod is Heavily inspired by GTA, IGI, FarCry.
i was always very unsatisfied by elevator interaction in games, so i try to expand it.
beside the usage with the elevetor you can climb it by your own.
Excellent work! I always liked original elevators, but since I could climb on them in Hitman Blood Money, I also wanted that in original FC1. It wouldn't make much sense in that type of game, since it was futuristic, but it would be interesting, in your mod. Especially, when it's a rusty elevator, which could randomly stop and you would have to climb to the shaft. Even if it would be very rare, it would be a great feature I think.
Furthermore, it would be interesting, if the AI could hear the elevator, and if the elevator would come they would be expecting it. So, for us who want to play the game silently, it would be great to use either the stairs, or the elevator shaft.
oh, i never was thinking about AI sound event for elevator.
hmm, the problem here is, you reach the elevator trough enemy infested areal, and if you once there, all AI are death or, you drive away with elevator, so it make no difference.
but i keep your nice suggestion in mind. i's actually not very hard to let elevator create a AI sound event.
for a rusty stopping one: that means you would need to have the possibility to destroy / open the elevator from inside, so you can leave it :/
but i have maybe a other nice idea: what about placing a sticky bomb or a timed explosive mine, start the elevator, jump out and let it explode somewhere in the shaft ? :D

i will add the AI soundevent, so the gameplay self will decide if it's usefull or harmfull or do nothing :)
ok, AI sound event added, elevator can be destroyed, also from inside added.
testing and debugging is very hard because AI, which is blind and deaf in my testmap, runs always inside the elevator if the elevator makes a noice and block it so i can not enter byself it to test the functions (move up and down ) ;D
however, it's really funny :D
