A mod for Doom II inspired by Brutal Doom, but this time "brutalizing" Wolfenstein 3D by adding new weapons, enemies, textures, animations, and of course, gore. Lots of it. That's not all though -- the maps from the original game are being redesigned too. Note: I'm not the mod's developer. Credit goes to Zio McCall for the concept, development, as well as the various contributors. I just felt that this mod needed a place here.

There is a brutal SoD, but it's nowhere near the level of Brutal Wolf 3D: Moddb.com

The way things are going right now, I doubt it. By the looks of it, progress is slow thus far this year, levels are being almost completely redesigned, weapon models are being redone - when (or if) it is finished though, v 5.0 will probably be a big leap from anything we've seen and played up until now.

too bad this isn't compatible with wolfenstien blade of agony wad :/

I mean that wad has the atmospheric maps and nostalgia all it needs its a touch of brutal wolfenstien to add some nice little upgrades like irons sights and empty and regular reload animations for the guns "like for example the toggle lock of the p-08 lugar or the slide of the whalter p-38 pistols locking back when reloading empty

Also I noticed a bug in the current mod .... why does the mg-42 uses the same ammo as the stg-44?

Mg-42 and kar-98k use 7.92x57mm Mauser cartridges but the stg-44 family of ARs used cut down version of the standard Mauser rounds AKA the 7.92x33mm "Kurtz or short in German"

Yea, that last point has been mentioned on the development forum, and Zio took notice of it, but I see they both still share the same ammo as of v 4.5 R.

It's funny you should mention Blade of Agony, as I think some of the weapons from there or Nazis would fit well in BW 3D, like the Gewehr 43, just with some proper reload animations and of course iron sights.

indeed ... hell im even getting ideas on blade of agony's item inventory system as in the hub map you can buy certain items with gold and other loot like armor, grenades, and a couple other assorted gadgets but never any real ranged weapons.

So im kinda wondering what gamneplay would be like in BOA combined with BW 4.5+ mechanics and a rather large arsenal of WW2 weapons from standard issue ones to obscure ones that were primarily issued to special forces like British Commandos and American OSS Operatives.

Basically this would allow the player to customize their load out to an extent before a mission. In this way the player has a hell of alot more incentive to explore every nook and cranny of the maps for secrets and loot with the goal of being able to afford more and or better goodies when you get back to base.

Also alot of the early WW2 suppressed weapons make brutal dooms v20+ stealth mechanics quite appealing for both this mod and BOA as well.
