A mod for Doom II inspired by Brutal Doom, but this time "brutalizing" Wolfenstein 3D by adding new weapons, enemies, textures, animations, and of course, gore. Lots of it. That's not all though -- the maps from the original game are being redesigned too. Note: I'm not the mod's developer. Credit goes to Zio McCall for the concept, development, as well as the various contributors. I just felt that this mod needed a place here.

Weird question, did they use the firing sound of the 9mm SMG in Fallout NV for the M1911 colt firing sound?

To people saying this mod is unfairly difficult: I partially agree. First - the mod is extremely tough and I love it. But there is one thing that just infuriate me: grenades. When do you use grenades? Usually in a small rooms with many enemies. MANY ENEMIES. Well, not in this mod. Many enemies - grenade is 95% likely to bounce of enemy's leg and get back to you. Using grenades in this mod is pure lottery. Either room cleared, or you dead.

It's because you are playing with Zdoom, while this mod is built for GZDOOM

I finally managed to play this game, after i solved problems with OpenGL and GZDoom, playing on GZDoom 3.6. And man, this game is fo freaking hard and unfair! I mean, i can fly through Brutal Doom v21 on Ultra Violence with full health and ammo like it was nothing, but this game... this game even on easiest difficulty doesn't let me do anything! I'm always low on ammo, i'm always low on health, armor doesn't do anything and enemies drain my health like a freaking vampires! And grenades... oh my GOD! They bounce around like a ball, and sometimes they even bounce backwards and kills me instead of enemies. And i'm not talking about a hidden explosive barrels that looks like a simple barrels, but when you destroy one of them, then they will blow in to your face, ruining your whole experience, making you start from the begining of the level, unless you save your progress. So, before going around the corner, first of all i save my progress and then i move on, because i know that someone is gonna kill me. And reload is so damn slow like, while i'm reloading, tons of enemies can come in to my position and simply kill me in a few shots. That is why i love quick games like Brutal Doom, and hate slow games with slow gameplay. And that is how i play this game. Start the level, do a save, move one, kill few enemies, check if it's clear, save again, move on and repeat. Other words: this game unfairly unbalanced and needs a lot of balance to be done, before you can call it a finished game. I don't know if i wanted to play it anymore, because it doesn't let me play it.

it is unbalanced. I recommend trying out V0RPAL's Wolfenstein X. has a new map set bundled with it (Heart Of Liberty i believe it called) and has more balanced enemies/weapons.
