At long last... WOOT!!!
Truely an honor to see Smokin' Guns nominated in the Editor's Choice category. Thanks MoDDB & congrats to all games that were in the running, especially the winner!
Hmm, yes. We've been wanting something like this for a very long time. Thanks guys!
O_o
Bird_of Prey: That's quite the compliment! Thank you!
Thanks Leon. Means quite a bit coming from you! (And I like the colors too!) <3
You gonna pull those pistols or whistle dixie? :P
Congrats on the top 100! You know, Chris asked me to do some voice acting a long time ago. But I can't remember if it was for your mod or one of his films? If it was for your mod, then I'm ****** that I never heard anything else from him about it. :P Would have been special to be a part of this game. Ah well, maybe next time!
The podcast interview was cool. Really a treat to hear your accent. X)
Congrats on the release! Gonna pimp this for ya over on the SG website. :)
I like the transparency & location. :)
In time for New Years Eve!
Hey... I represent that remark! :P
Very flattering to see some World of Padman devs watching our progress. Truely a great compliment! Kudos to you & your gang over at WoP, Kai-Li! <3
(PS. Don't know why I couldn't reply under your comment. Wierd.)
If you like spaghetti western movies, or western based shooters, you'll probably like Smokin' Guns so give it a try!
Tequila is a tireless, talented coder & we are VERY priviledged to have him on the team. Great work amigo! :)
Nice to see you hanging about Leon. :)
Smokin' Guns got Staff Selection!?!
Wow, thanks Henley & MODDB! We'll be imbedding this over at our site for sure. Such an honor!
Great vid, btw. Always a treat to see new & exciting footage by the modding community. :)
You're protesting something you know nothing about. In addition to what's included in the manual, the name Iron Claw Interactive is all over the Smokin' Guns intro & lengthy credits video.
After lying dormant for 2 years, ICI turned WQ3 over to us because they didn't want to see their mod DIE. The name of the game had to be changed because leaving the word QUAKE in the title posed copyright concerns with Id Software. If you'd bothered to download SG & try it you would have seen that Smokin' Guns 1.0 is a DRASTIC improvement over WQ3 beta 2.0 (which was released in 2003) & honors ICI in every way. If you're playing WQ3 Beta 2.2, as I suspect from your comments, who do you think released that? We've been at the helm since 2005 & this is our third release!
Trust me, the founder of ICI keeps an eye on the project & is very pleased. Just try the game friend! You can do so with a clear conscience. :)
But to avoid more misunderstandings, perhaps we should include some of this history in our summary & at our website.
Great review as far as I'm concerned. :) ICI really put together an incredible gaming experience. I'm just glad I was part of the team that kept the mod alive & pushed it to stand-alone status. Thanks so much MODDB!
PS. I saw you guys on the servers with your moddb tags but I was at work & couldn't join. I sincerely hope to get the chance to swap lead with you folks on a server someday. (I've got yer gatling right here! Hehe.)
A guy named Picard has some sort of work-around happening in our forum, in the SVN section. (I don't have a mac & can't test it. Mighty big download too.) But an official mac version probably won't happen untill we've finished back porting to the IoQ3 engine.
From here maybe. Many downloads from other places. Unless you like western themed games it may not be your cup of tea anyway. Still, it's a free game ya know? :P
Howdy pvt.Johnson! We are FINALLY working on a release candidate for our testers! :) We WILL release the stand-alone in 2008... hopefully sooner rather than later. Stay tuned!
Going very slow at the moment. Practically the entire team is on vacation the last few weeks. Thanks for keeping an eye on us. :)

In real life, I use AutoCad to design granite & marble furniture products. In the summer of 2005 I stumbled into taking over my favorite Q3 mod (Western Quake 3) when development by the original team ceased & the website was about to expire. This game is a team effort built on a foundation created by Iron Claw Interactive. Several coders, level designers & a website developer from all over the world joined my efforts. (The team members hail from Germany, Norway, France, USA, & are all great guys!) I managed to learn level design so that I could be useful beyond the scope of a public relations person & I picked up a few other game related skills along the way. After several years of making improvements to WQ3, we released a Stand Alone version known as "Smokin' Guns" on January 1st 2009. Development continues & a very meaty version 1.1 should be available soon.
