Possibly - you don't want to play online with a controller against people using mice, though. Sure, you may find controllers more comfortable (I don't), but mice are far, far more accurate, and you'll just find yourself dying repeatedly.

If the game doesn't end up natively supporting gamepad inputs, use Xpadder to assign keyboard and mouse controls to gamepad buttons and sticks. You can set the mouse to the right stick, WASD to the left stick, left click to R1/2, right click to L1/2, R (for reload) to your preferred button (for me, square on Playstation and X on Xbox controllers), "change weapon" (usually mouse wheel) to whatever you prefer (d-pad or top face button, whatever), and jump to Cross/A.

If you play old C&C Renegade, you'll notice that everyone is a walking tank. I mean, the minimum amount of health you spawn with in multiplayer is 200, enough to tank 40 shots to the chest from a basic Nod assault rifle or about 30 from a GDI assault rifle. Mind you, this is completely turned around when ramjet snipers come into play, since they instantly kill all basic infantry (200 health) regardless of hit location... but then those guys have 350 health, so even being hit by a .50 caliber ramjet sniper rifle in basic Renegade won't even bring Havok and Sakura down to red health.

The emphasis is mostly on strategy, not being "hardcore." The infantry are incredibly important, but they are specialists, unlike vehicles, which are better generalists (a medium tank, mobile artillery or even a light tank can basically handle anything, while you'll never hurt anything heavier than artillery with a sniper rifle, and you'll almost certainly avoid attacking bases because of the high price of your character).

Update: read further... apparently the mod, as-is, includes monsters from The Witcher. I can see why that would entail removal, but it's no big deal to me. I'm gonna use the Lore Friendly version anyway.

There hasn't been an update since APRIL, the website is dead, and there hasn't been a comment since August 10th! This is saddening to see one of the greatest mods ever to die like this.

I don't think it would be a good idea to pit the UNSC against the ingame races... They ALL have shields, while the UNSC has a ridiculous hull strength but no shields, which is bad against weapons like missiles (*cough*Marza*cough*).

Unofficial balance patches, large unit additions, total conversions(it makes the game into an entirely new one), skins, etc. This isn't about becoming a moderator on YR online doofus.

They target your frontline dozers(the ones repairing your defenses) with Harriers, then while you're down, they send in like 3-5 Kirovs against you. Needless to say, I got my *** whooped. Also, can you please tone the ion cannon down a bit? Perhaps keep the same amount of damage, but instead make the spread less. Or maybe you should get rid of the spread and make it as true to TS/TD as possible.

I also have a bit of an issue with the iron curtain, it doesn't seem to do anything. They turn red and evil looking, but when they get hit, instead of just having the bullet/laser/whatever basically bounce off, they flash normal for a second and take the damage. I'm gonna have to put a couple RAA on hard on my next mega-match(1 v everyone in their way).

I'm serious. Right now I'm doing a 1v1v1v1v1v1v1v1 with 7 mediums and I notice that the Tibs and Gens have much, much better AI than the Reds. The Red's bases have NO tesla coils,(which are the best defense evar) they don't have much in the way of units or buildings, and they have never even built a super weapon. Thankfully, we're dealing with an great mod team, so maybe you guys can make like a 1.0.1 patch that fixes the Reds AI and thats it. Thats all my gripes about the mod. Otherwise, IT'S AWESOME!!!! I contradicted myself when I said I would play RAA, because I'm really liking Nod....
