I did, and funny enough I've gone through each step. I try to start the .exe and nothing happens. It shows up on task manager and it quickly closes afterwards.

And now, after trying again, I noticed several TheProtectors.exe processes going on. I quit all of them and tried to start the program again, and voila, now it works. I have no idea what's going on because I've checked the manager several times for multiple instances of the .exe, but found none.

Seriously, what the hell. Atleast the game works now.

Just downloaded your mod but it won't start. I'm using Windows 7 and have tried every kind of compability mode.

I've read other threads having the same issue, where the solution was the monitor. I'm not sure this is the case because I can play vanilla WB3 just fine on GoG.

Really excellent game. Had tons of fun with it. There are a few issues I'd like to discuss though.

First off, missions and mission penalties. It's been mentioned before, but the penalty stacking is horrible and makes the game incredibly stressful at the start. Getting a base on the moon is easy, but 6 months to get a outpost on Mars? Which is guarded by a Starbase? And a while after that you recieve a mission to take Jupiter all of a sudden? I had a tremendously difficult time at the start of the game dealing with the constant light cruisers and trying to establish a foothold on the various moons and planets in order to complete the missions. After you've taken Jupiter though, you stop recieving missions at all, and there are no varieties on missions so far either.

Secondly, the slow and awkward start of the game. You spend a long time just chilling at home on Earth and researching stuff. It takes quite some time for you to get going, and it feels incredibly odd that you have two ship classes, fighters and corvettes, who aren't used at all in the game. In fact, why are they even there?

Thirdly, the combat. More sprites would be absolutely great, but the one thing that annoyed me the most was the lack of feedback regarding damage. Beams are better against shields from what I understand, and ballistic weapons are far better against structure and armor, but there was a lack of feedback regarding this, and I'm still confused regarding which weapons you should use.

Finally, more structured UI and more explanatory tooltips. When designing a ship, make objects you can fit on your ship green in the list, so you know what you can safely add instead of doing a quick comparison. Objects which are red cannot be fitted, and yellow objects can be used, but will cause heat issues.

Game's great, but I see the game being even more great if these issues were adressed.

Great mod, although I wouldn't mind seeing the economy getting a buff. Feels as if you never make enough money, and the AI keep spamming units on Hard as if they have no limits at all. Gets pretty boring after a while, even with all the quality units and animations.

Would like to point out that Byss is missing either its space or land battle map (can't remember which), since it only keeps reloading the map once you click on Start.

Seems like you've forgotten a pair of zeroes in some of the prices. The Vengeance frigate and the Interceptor costs 24 and 33 credits respectively.

Or... you let the players point out the spelling errors and descriptions.

I guess it's true, however, that you don't really look at it all the time, but for some players it's freakishly annoying to see a spelling mistake (yes, I'm a grammar nazi). ;)

Also, will you be fixing most of the spelling mistakes as well? Been seeing a few of them, and some of the descriptions feels awkward.

Is it possible to have AI fighers docked on your ship, or does it have to be players? Can't imagine it'll be that fun to just sit around, docked in a capital ship waiting for a horde of bombers to show up. :P

Thanks for answering.

After looking at that video you linked, is it possible to have turrets firing at targets automaticlly? I don't remember any similar function in the original game.
If there isn't one, won't it be kinda difficult to hit any fighter craft? That Nebulon in the video might not have that much trouble since it was fairly mobile, but I'm thinking of the much bigger ships.

How is the capital ships handled? Is it like flying a normal fighter but just slower? Remember trying out a mod once that added capital ships and it was a pain in the butt to fly one, it was just too slow and the camera angles sucked major a$$.
