problem being that I AM LEGEND mod would be all hunters vs only one survivor. If you like the movie then view it's special features to see abit more of the story BEHIND it (it's been around far longer then the movie). The animated comics are great. I particulary like the one about the girl and the vault.

EXACTLY! Don't think the new game will hinder the (slow) progress of L4D1, and don't assume you will run out of players in L4D after the release of L4D2. There are still MASSIVE ammounts of players still playing Counter-Strike for craps sake, so apparently Condition Zero and CS:S havent dented them too much. NOONE knows much about the new content for L4D2 (Rumored to be 4 new special with possable inclusion of the original 4) and I don't recall being promised that kind of contend being added for L4D1.

Remember, You'll probably get plenty of free weekends and 50% deals will show up like 30 days after release, Communities will convert as much content as they can into L4D1, and the Pirates will have a non-steam available to steal like a week or 2 BEFORE release. I've never heard of such a blatent negitive overreaction to a game release sense "Hitler2: Killing trees *Rapeing and eating dead babies edition*"

As to the boycott however:
That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen. 1st off, in order to "boycott" a game, you simply do not purchase it. They have nearly completed the game now and not releaseing it is almost worse (for them) then releaseing it, and not releaseing (what you clearly consiter to be) a crappy game is no better for you then them releaseing it. Actualy, if you want them to suffer, it is better for you to allow them to work on the game and get no sales for their effort, thereby discourageing them from createing a Left4Dead 3 game.

If you simply lack faith in their ability to create a completed and functional game given their stated time frame, then simply do not pre-order the game and wait for the price to drop and patches to be released. Some of us DO have faith and would like to see the game released. THEY HAVE ALREADY ANNOUNCED THAT THEY *WILL* CONTINUE TO UPDATE LEFT4DEAD AFTER LEFT4DEAD2 IS RELEASED. Your arguement is even more retarded then it is futile (and ALL petitions are pritty futile and have been proven to have no value in almost all cases)

Kildar is mostly right... 28 days/weeks later has "infected" and it is commonly mistaken for zombies, witch are a seporate lore. Though zombies ability to react with any intelligence is a matter for debate somewhere else, the only lore discrepency is that "infected" via the movie lore should be unable to reserect themselves and removal of the head is not a requirement for perminent death. I personaly had intentions of forgiveing this completely as I have forgiven every zombie game for not requireing the brain to be damaged to kill a zombie. I recommend everyone else does as well. It's fiction, I personaly saw a decapitated infected kill a zombie with a kick to the shins, so lets not **** on a potentialy great mod with these chicken $#!+ details.

I'm not an official, but it seems quite clear that the mod is for Crysis, not warhead

Would you rather see inventive total conversion mods, another "excape from school" mod that looks more like a school then all the countless former ones?

I try mods that SOUND like they will be fun, and Hope that if they are fun, they will gather the proper support needed to attain polished graphics. Only when all the interesting concept options are exausted will I bother searching the boreing sounding mods reguardless of their graphical appeal.

Do NOT lump all concepts together. "Zombie" is not a concept, Take Zombie master mod for HL2, it's concept is to change FPS HL2 into a CoOp vs RTS game. The concept can hardly be compared to Zombie Panic (HL2) simply because it has the common charictoristic of zombies.

BUY IT. Portal is the short but incredible PCGamer Puzzle game of the year, Team Fortress 2 is the undeniably awesome PCGamer Multi-player game of the year, Episode 2 is not a bad addition. Ep2 AND Portal both receaved "best molments in 2007 gameing" mentions. and all this for $50.
I highly doubt "half their fanbase" elected to pass on the orange box that EVERYONE is frickin' playing. Crawl out of your cave and buy the orange box already, all the "cool kids" are doing it!

It's incredably complex and I cant even begin to discribe all the details and posabilities here, but that is why this is one of the best and most creative total conversion mods ever created. I highly doubt we'll be seeing anything this creative from a mod anytime soon.

I definately recommend checking out corona bytes for more content addons. This mod seems to have spawned a modding comunity devoted to modding the mod.

The mod reacts differently to different versions of DirectX.
On my previous computer, the hidden was not visable at all (GeForce 4 mx)
While on my new rig running performs what I would consiter to be "as intended" (2x GeForce 7800 SLI)
and my friends rig performed slower, the hidden was slightly More visable (GeForce 6800)
Apparintly there is a version of DirectX in witch the hidden appears completely black.
Some people are deliberately rolling back their Direct X versions in order to see the hidden more clearly.
I recommend forming groups of honorable players or similur DirectX versions.
Some detection of the direct x version in use should make balinceing possable.

It's definately amuseing, although short.
Certainly not chalingeing in terms of combatints so do not conserve your ammunition.
It does not require any major knowledge of science as you can find help nearby. I personaly had alittle trouble hearing the voice over the "background" music on the first puzzle though.
I think the chemicles got to the good doctor. Durring the "contest" he asked me the question about "the founder" twice. (avoiding spoilers)

Seems like you've abandoned works that were complete and ready that could have saved your modelers TONS of work. Hell, you could have stuck to original hl2 weaponry and used strategicly placed (standard) ammo crates to aid in balenceing teams, ie leaveing rocket rearm crates near the rear where they would be harder to get to the front untell the combine advanced farther forward, and a good commander could use headcrab artilery to try to slow down rocket supply lines to the front. These ideas were what was on MY mind when I awaited this mod, I can't really imagine why you'd steer so far from that concept.

This isnt exactly a complaint, but I WAS saddened to see these new versions of troops, awaiting polish that could easily been avoided all together WHYLE staying more true to the hl2 universe.

Seems they've seen the trailers that display some of the untapped potential the source engine delivers (Portal spacificly) and have already produced a functional "portal-gun". Now they will not be releaseing this to the public anytime soon as valve plans to ship PORTAL with episode 2 (with TeamFortress 2).
There is a video of this available somewhere... I forget where or what they called the little mod.

You CAN Host AND play the game, it's called a LISTEN server as opposed to a DEDICATED server in witch you would NOT be able to play. The Dedicated servers run much faster as they are not required to dedicate resources to your gameplay.

Some mapper should make up a good battleground wasteland as large as they can manage, just toss acouple striders or so on either side. Add a light sprinkleing of scrapmetal from prior battles for infantry cover, and boil for 15min.

I think Airsoft would be easier then Paintball, plus it's not been done yet. Plus everyone seems to go "sport" with paintball (ie. Airbarriors and colorfull uniforms). People with airsoft havent pussied out like that yet, Usualy more tactical/swat style tactics and dark/cammo clothing. I like the idea, upgrade system to team-based combat. The first airsoft game will not be the last.
